Falcon Family Newsletter
OUR SCHOLARS ARE SOARING TO NEW HEIGHTS!
THERE IS SO MUCH TO LOOK FORWARD TO THIS YEAR AT GVPLA!!
KICKING OFF AN EXTRAORDINARY SCHOOL YR!
Welcome back Falcon Family!
Teachers and staff are continuing to build strong relationships with our scholars daily! We are highly looking forward to spending this year helping our scholars grow, transform, and learn academically, and emotionally here at PLA.
Our Friday snack sales will be postponed until further notice - We will be back up and running soon! Thank you for understanding.
If you are the first person in the car rider line pulling in during arrival, please make sure when you drop your scholars off that you pull all the way up to the sign that says "student pick up/drop off" before letting your scholars out the car. This is to ensure the safety of our scholars and keep traffic from getting backed up. Please refrain from letting scholars out of the car at the beginning of the entrance, as this causes the line to get backed up. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

GVPLA SCHOOL CLOSINGS AND DELAYS!
As winter approaches, GVPLA would like to remind parents of our process for delaying or closing school, along with our E-learning policies and procedures.
In the event of a school closing or delay, GVPLA will communicate with families through the following ways:
•Local TV stations: Channel 4 (CBS), Channel 6 (ABC), Channel 8 (CW), Channel 13 (NBC) and Channel 59 (FOX)
•Posted on our website in Announcements and the school calendar
•On the main GVPLA school social media accounts: Facebook, X, and Instagram
•Via text, phone and email message*
Two-Hour Delays
For two-hour delays or cancellations, our goal is to notify parents and families by 6:00am. If there is a decision to delay, we will continue to monitor the condition of our surrounding roads. Two-hour delay means GVPLA would start school at 10:00am.
School Cancellations
In the event of a cancellation, GVPLA campus will be closed during school hours, and we will conduct school as an e-learning day.
Please know that the safety of our scholars and staff is our top priority when deciding to delay or cancel school. Contact the main office at 317-333-6980 with any questions or concerns.

If Your Child is Sick:
When to Consider Staying Home:
If your student currently has or has had a fever greater than 100.4°F or your student has vomited or has had diarrhea in the past 24 hours, they should not come to school.
Notify the School: If your child is unable to attend school due to illness, please call or email the school office by 2:00 p.m. on the day of the absence. Include your child's name, grade level, and teacher's name. Please also copy the teacher(s) on the email. If you need their emails we will be happy to provide that information as well.
Main Email Contacts:
Students Who Become Ill at School: If your child has a fever or begins vomiting at school, they must be picked up for school as soon as possible.
When Can Your Child Return to School?
