Patriots’ Review
December
President's Message
Happy Holidays VPE families!
As 2024 comes to an end, I want to thank everyone for helping the PTA be successful. We’ve had a
wonderful year. If you are looking for more ways to get involved in your child’s school community,
please reach out to me or another PTA board member! We always have volunteer opportunities.
New officers will be elected in the coming months and now is a great time to see what we do and learn more about it. I'd love to see some fresh faces! We had a busy November with Book Fair, Multicultural Unity Night, primary fall parties, and Thanksgiving break! With only three short weeks until winter break, we have just a few things going on this month. The older grades will have their class parties, and we have another fun Family Focus night on December 18th! The December PTA meeting will be held on Thursday Dec 12th. Please join us in the library at 7:45am or join us via zoom!
I wish you all very Happy Holidays and enjoy the time with your families!

PTA Volunteering
As we enter this busy season, please consider taking that next step and becoming more involved!
Want to help, but not sure where to start? Ask your homeroom teacher what you can do, contact your homeroom parent to see how you can get involved, send an email to any member of the PTA!
As the holiday season approaches, here is a list of dates and times to mark on your calendars for each grade level party.
If you are interested in volunteering your time and/or providing supplies, please contact the Homeroom Parent for your child's class.

Membership
Our PTA membership is growing and we have loved seeing all the families supporting our students and staff ! Remember, it is not too late to join our PTA! We would love to have one member for every student in the school. So if you have two students, sign up both parents, or an aunt and uncle. Three students, sign up a grandparent ! Remember, this is no way commits you to attending meetings or volunteering; it just shows your support. If you aren’t already a member, you can sign up at the meeting, or using this QR code !

SBDM Update
Student teachers currently placed at Veterans Park Elementary attended the November SBDM council meeting. During the November SBDM Council Meeting, members discussed all agenda items. They reviewed the most recent financial reports including the activity fund, section 6 funds and the after-school program budget. The council members reviewed minutes from SBDM Committee Meetings as well as CSIP goals and progress. Ms. Dabney reviewed the DESSA data. Due to internet issues, the reading of the Wellness Policy and Extracurricular Program Policy were tabled until the December SBDM meeting.
