Weekly Wolf Call
February 5-9
Scott Needs Your Help.
As the weather continues to get colder more of our students are being driven to and from school. This means our already busy parking lot is even fuller. Please make every effort to follow the posted directions, park only in designated spaces and be safe and respectful of all the other families. We all have busy mornings and tight schedules, no one is the exception. Observing the parking lot rules makes it safer for all our kids. Planning a bit of extra time and modeling kindness and respect in front of our kids is the Scott Elementary way. Parents who demonstrate a disregard for safety or are disrespectful of school staff may be contacted by D11 Security or law enforcement. If you notice this type of behavior please provide a name or license plate number to the front desk, so I may follow up with those drivers. The safety of our staff and students is not an area we can be relaxed. I appreciate your help with this.
Tom Copley, Principal
Scott Elementary School
Dear Scott Community,
CSSD11 is proud to have the Crystal Apple Awards which honors teaching excellence in our schools. Thanks to the votes in our community, we are very excited to announce that Carla Moore, fifth grade teacher, is Scott Elementary’s Crystal Apple nominee this year. We need your help sharing the amazing things that Ms. Moore does for our school and community with the nomination committee. We are asking for letters to be written that can share the following with the Crystal Apple committee:
In the classroom, how does this teacher meet the needs of all students? You may consider students individual differences, learning environment, student motivation, and preparation of students to become productive members of society.
How does this teacher demonstrate professional collaboration?
How does this teacher contribute to a positive school/parent/community partnership?
What are some personal stories of Ms. Moore’s impact on your student, family or the community that you can share?
Please turn in completed letters to the front office or to Mrs. Strizich in the Learning Commons by February 9, 2024. If you have any pictures of your students when they were in Ms. Moore’s class (current or past!) we would love to have those as well. Thank you for your support!
