New Mass Literacy for Families and Communities resource
The Mass Literacy Guide has been empowering educators since 2020 with practical strategies and resources for preK-3 literacy. Now this hub of early literacy information includes a section designed specifically for families and communities. Families and community members can use the site to learn more about reading and writing instruction and how to support it at home.

Spirit Tree Decorationg at MRHS
Hello Sharks!
The Spirit Trees will be set on Main Street this Wednesday to begin decorating. For those of you who don't know, each class is asked to decorate their tree to win a cash prize for their class.
Decorating may begin on Thursday December 5th and will be judged on Thursday December 12th. Winners will be announced Monday Dec. 16th beginning Spirit Week. Class participation for Spirit week will be tracked with daily forms. Both will be used to determine the winning class. There are cash prizes for 1st place!
We are looking for School Spirit, Creativity, Effort, Inclusiveness and Teamwork.
Classes can even add a class charity to the tree if you would like!
No Glass/Liquids on the Trees. ONLY LED lights. Any altering to other classes trees will result in disqualification and discipline.

12th Grade: Largest Tree, left of Library
11th Grade: Second Largest Tree, Right of Library
10th Grade: Outside School Store Door
9th Grade: Left side of Cafeteria Entrance by Windows
8th Grade: Corner to right of Tech Office
Best Buddies: Farthest Corner Left of Library & Display Case

Congratulations to Davion Dawkins!
Congratulations to Freshman Davion Dawkins who earned the position of "Runner Up" in the annual Lions Club Speech Contest. Davion wrote and presented an excellent speech about the best advice he ever received, "No man is an island; no man stands alone." Davion won some nice holiday spending money! Bravo!
Annual Holiday Candy House Stories
It's that time of year when the Creative Writing class and the Sandscript club create holiday candy houses and then write stories about the people or creatures that live inside them. Once their stories are finished, their houses and writing will go on display here at school.
Senior Southeastern MA District Music Festival Audition Results
9 of the 17 music students who auditioned for the VERY competitive Senior Southeastern MA District Music Festival were accepted!
Representing Monomoy in the Mixed Chorus: Leyla Holmes (soprano), Emory Hines (alto), Payton MacRoberts (tenor), David Mitchell (tenor), Boden Mabile (tenor) and Ben McGrath (bass)
In the Concert Band: Charlotte Skinner (oboe) and Riley Martin (clarinet)
In the Orchestra: Wellington Holmes (french horn)
Emory, Ben, Payton, and Welly all received scores high enough to get All-State recommendations!

SHORE Food Pantry
Bags of groceries available on Fridays
The Diversity Club, with the help of donations from the community, Stop and Shop, and Google . Org Teen Mental Health Initiative, can distribute individual bags of food on Fridays. They are handed out at the end of the day and are available to anyone who needs them. Pick up in the Main Office lobby as you are heading out to your bus!
Outer Cape Health Services Navigator School-Based Service Site
MRHS has joined with Outer Cape Health Services to offer additional support to our school community. This new project aims to increase access to community supports and clinical services for students and their families. The service will provide onsite access to OCHS navigator services and tele-behavioral and telemedicine appointments. The school-based OCHS Navigator will work alongside school personnel to help students and families to access locally-based services and resources. The Navigator program will support students in connecting to the resources that they need to improve health, wellness, and academic engagement. Navigators will provide customized case management services, ensuring that students and families are connected to the supports that they need. The Fall Sports Awards Night was Monday November 25th in the MRHS auditorium. We

Varsity Boys Basketball at TD Garden: Saturday, January 11
Our varsity boys’ basketball team is playing at the Boston TD Garden on Saturday January 11th at 4 PM. This will be an experience of a lifetime. Tickets costs $25 and are on sale until 1/1/25. The tickets are valid for all eight high school games on January 11. All seats are unreserved and are on a first come first serve basis.
