
NOSD SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM 5K-8
June 10th (Tue) to July 3rd (Thurs) * 8am-12:15pm *

LEARNING ADVENTURES - 5K - 2ND GRADE
- Kindergarten Learning Adventures - Teacher: Ms. Magnin
- First Grade Learning Adventures - Teacher: Ms. Szczerbinski
- Second-grade Learning Adventures - Teacher: Mrs. Kunz
In this full morning session (8:00-12:15), we will focus on age-appropriate reading, writing, and math lessons. Special projects and events will also be included. Instruction will be based on NOSD Standards.
Learning Adventure classes are for students who receive a recommendation from their teacher and/or for those students who wish to strengthen their skills and to prepare them for the next grade level.
Snack & recess time are built into each day.
MATH & READING INSTRUCTION - GRADES 3-5 & 6-8
Teacher recommendation is required to attend.
Teachers will notify parents/guardians via email.
Elementary School * end of March * Middle School in early May.
Grade-level learning and skill-building in reading and mathematics.
Students will practice reading and writing skills while exploring topics of interest. Students will practice math skills and concepts while engaging in games, technology, and the use of math tools.
ELEMENTARY & MIDDLE SCHOOL ENRICHMENT COURSES
- Art in Nature, using nature as our inspiration to showcase creativity.
- Babysitting ABC's, an introduction to the basics of child care.
Board Games, builiding relationships and practicing problem solving skills with peers while having fun.
Crafty Sewing, exploring the world of sewing, perfect for young crafters new to the world of sewing.
Community Connections, actively participate in practicial ways to do good for others, ourselves and our community.
Fiber Arts, introduction to basic crochet, loom knitting, and needle felting.
Getting Crafty, exporing the world of Diamond Art and Perler Beads.
Reading Escapes, will provide a comfortable space to get lost in a good book. Students will be able to check out books from our libraries.
Stress Management, learn essential tools and techniqus to identify & explore a variety of coping skills.
Summertime Writing, exploring differnt types of writing from poetry to short stories and more.
Playwriting, explore the exciting world of developing, writing and performing a short play or skit.
Summer Theater, develop skills that will improve your acting abilities and increase self confidence when talking/preforming in public.
Walking Warriors / Running Club, focusing on fitness, fun and team building.
