PTA Fun Run/Forestdale
This Friday, October 18th, is the PTA Fun Run. We invite families to attend and support their student running. This is the largest PTA fundraiser of the school year. Thank you for supporting the PTA.
The Fun Run will be held in the back fields of the school. For families attending, please park in the lower parking area near the K-2 playground.

Bus Evacuations
On Wednesday, October 16th, all buses will perform bus evacuation drills upon arrival at Forestdale. Students will be asked to exit the bus from the back door. There will be adults helping students off the bus and to the ground safely.
This is one of the many safety drills we perform throughout the school year to reinforce safety procedures in the case of an emergency.
Teacher Conferences
Teacher conferences will be Wednesday, October 23rd and Wednesday, November 6th. Your students teacher should have been in touch to schedule your conference. All conferences are virtual, unless an in-person conference is requested.
What is Happening in Other Areas of the Building:
Staff Spotlight
Each month I will highlight staff that work in Forestdale. This month will be our school's social workers and nurses.
Nurses: Mrs. Lopes and Mrs. Nardone
Crista Nardone - I have been a nurse for 17 years. This is my third year at Forestdale. I attended school at Fitchburg State and Mass. College of Pharmacy. I grew up in Plymouth and have been married to her husband Ryan for 12 years. We have 3 sons: Cayden, Reilly and Connor as well as a 2 year old foster daughter and a crazy dog. I am an avid crafter/DIYer. I love the beach, but Lake Ossipee, NH is my happy place. I am a devoted hockey mom and love every second of it. School nursing is not where I saw myself if you asked me 5 years ago, but now that Iām here, I cannot imagine being anywhere else.
Liz Lopes - I have been a nurse for 30 years - 15 years as a cardiac nurse at Cape Cod Hospital and 15 years as a school nurse in Sandwich. I grew up in Medford and Marion Massachusetts and attended UMASS Dartmouth. I have been married to my husband Scott for 28 years and we have three daughters, Alex, Bridget and Emily. We have a golden retriever named Rocky and a cat named Stella. I love going to the beach and spending time with family and friends. We also love to travel whenever we get the chance.

Meghan Lulley/TLC (Transitional Learning Center) Teacher - I grew up in Westchester County, New York. I have been working in the district for three years and obtained my degrees from Bridgewater State University. I am married with three children - Emily, Abigail and Logan.
Sara Marshall - I have worked at Forestdale for 2 years and this is my first year as a Social Worker. I grew up in Sandwich and attended Bridgewater State (undergrad) Capella University (grad). I am married with 2 kids - Maddison (8th grade) & Ty (3rd grade).
Alyssa Pestilli-I have worked as a Social Worker for 8 years at Forestdale. I grew up in Mansfield, MA and attended Roger Williams University (undergrad) and Boston University (graduate degree). My husband Eric and I have 3 kids - Evan (17), Casey (15) and Ethan(13).
I enjoy music, going to the beach, finding sea glass and heart shaped rocks, and reading. I love all animals...especially dogs, roller coasters, spending time with my family and working with children!
Teddy Biron/TLC ESP-I am a 2020 graduate of Sandwich High School and attended Forestdale school from K-8th grade. I authored and illustrated the book Lighthouse Keeper Saves the Bay published August of 2022. This book was dedicated to the Forestdale School. In my spare time I enjoy painting murals of dogs and beaches.
