The Program Buzz....๐
Early Childcare Teacher Cadet Program ๐ง๐ปโ๐ซ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ซ
Great things are happening in Teacher Cadets and in Early Childhood Professions! In our Teacher Cadet class, our students have had the opportunity to possess exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills to consider teaching as a career. They have had an insight into teaching in various age groups and schools. We have had the opportunity to observe at Clifton Elementary Preschool, Clifton Community Preschool, Community Hospital Preschool, Tope Elementary, Bookcliff Middle School, and Palisade High School. Being able to observe children, begins by noting how each child behaves, learns, reacts to new situations, and interacts with others. An educator then takes this information and creates activities to promote growth in skills, document the success of those skills, and then reflect and assess. The students now have a better understanding of child development and aspects of how children learn and understand. This has been a huge piece of our learning!
Our Early Childhood Professions students have also been very busy with hands-on learning. Our students are observing daily in the Career Center preschool classroom. We have also enjoyed observing many other programs in the field. These programs included Pear Park Elementary Preschool, Clifton Elementary Preschool, Clifton Community Preschool and Tope Elementary Preschool.
The daily student observations that our ECP students are taking aids them when they learn how to meet the developmental needs and interests of young children in early childhood settings. Finally, we also had the amazing opportunity for Judy Segrest and Carmen Marsh come in from Mesa County Workforce Children and Families to present to our students about professionalism in the Early Childhood field.
