LMS Blue Jays!

I hope that everyone is having a great week. Tomorrow is a 2-hour early release for teacher professional development. We will dismiss students at 12:50.

Students will be bringing home their iReady and 2024 MAP results next Friday, September 20th. Students that scored two grade levels or more below their current grade level in iReady reading will qualify for a Reading Success Plan. This is a mandate from the state of Missouri. These plans will include specific interventions that will take place during advisory, certain hours of the school day, and independently at home. We will connect with families to review specific plans.

Our PTSA Color Splash form deadline is September 19th. This is the last day students can turn in a form and receive a t-shirt. We will place our order that afternoon, they do not allow any late orders for t-shirts. The PTSA Color Splash is always a fun event!

Liberty Middle School

Picture retakes are scheduled for September 20th.

Liberty Middle School PTSA will be hosting a Color FUNrun event. This program aims to go beyond traditional fund raising by seeking to engage the entire student body, no matter what level of fitness or capability, in an initiative that promotes a life-long healthy way of living. This is the only fundraiser for the school year and raises funds for all the PTSA sponsored events throughout the school year.

On-site school immunization clinics are coming to LMS on 9/26/24! They are a convenient way for parents to get required and recommended vaccines for their child without having to miss work or their student to miss school. The assurance of meeting school vaccine requirements without waiting in long lines a week or two before school starts is a win-win for everyone!

The vaccines being offered for Middle School are as follows:

• Tdap (required)
• Meninogococcal ACWY (required)
• HPV9
• Influenva

MSHSAA PHYSICAL FORMS ARE GOOD FOR 2 YEARS IF APPROVED BY A DOCTOR

The Liberty Athletic Department will no longer accept paper copies of MSHSAA Physicals. Parents will now use the application PRIVIT to submit all physical information. As a Parent/Guardian for a student under the age of 20, you will register an account with your email address, then add your student to the account.

Returning Students: If you created an account for your student from a previous season, please Log In with the same email address and password.

New Students: Select Register to create a new account for your student. Make certain to select your role as Parent/Guardian when registering.

What’s it about, you ask?

Gentleman Roger Goodman has every intention of living his life as a wealthy aristocrat once he marries the wealthy Sarah Huffington... that is, until he overhears her telling her girlfriends how boring he is! The man Sarah really wants to marry is a dashing, daring pirate! Willing to walk the plank for love, Roger immediately buys a ship, recruits a crew and even hires a pirate tutor, Long John Sliver, to show him the ropes! In return, Roger must sail him to Treasure Island to pick up eight chests of gold doubloons. In the meantime, Sarah sets off with her crew to become pirates themselves creating swashbuckling suspense and laughter along the way! You’ll go overboard with laughs!

Family Needs Assessment 24-25"

Mrs. Quarles grew up in Liberty. Her degree in social work is from Mizzou. This is her 6th year in public education and her 6th year at Liberty middle School. She states she became a social worker because, "I had a difficult time during middle school which is why I was so excited to be a social worker in a middle school! I also really believe in and support public education so being able to help kids and their families be more successful during a school year is very special for me." Mrs. Quarles went to Liberty Middle School when she was in 6th and 7th grade. Her favorite hobbies are reading, coloring, hanging out with friends, family, and her dogs.

Mrs. Dawson is from Liberty. She has been in education for 7 years and this is her 3rd year at Liberty Middle School. She has her Doctorate Degree from William Woods University. She states she got into education because, "Relationships, relationships, relationships - I love watching our students grow and evolve over some of their most crucial years. The growth that happens from 6th grade to 8th grade is immense and so fun to be a part of!" She enjoys spending her spare time with her newborn and husband, taking walks with her dog, and traveling. Dr. Dawson attended middle school at LMS.
