- Morning Carpool Reminders: When approaching the 4-way stop near the school, please remember to leave a car-length space in every direction to allow resident traffic to continue while waiting in the carpool line. The carpool line begins at 7:40 a.m. It is crucial to be in line before 8:10 a.m. to ensure your child arrives on time for class. Students should be in their classroom by 8:15 a.m. Late arrivals must have a parent walk them to the front entrance of the building to sign the tardy log in the office.
- Afternoon Carpool Reminders: EDC students must be signed out daily at the connector and picked up after 3:30 p.m. unless a written note is provided to the child's teacher. Due to our buses loading in the back of the school, turn left on The Cedars when exiting the carpool line. This is to ensure the safety of our students.
- Uniform Reminders: With cooler weather, please remember that our uniform policy states the following concerning Jackets/Outerwear and Other Clothing Items: Solid red, navy, or white (MBA Logos allowed only); Girl’s Tights/Under Jumpers must be Long-Length Solid White or Navy; The following items ARE NOT allowed to be worn in the school building: Hats/Hoods/Bandanas.
- Conferences with your student’s teacher is a requirement per the school district and Mary B. Austin. Face-to-face conferences are ideal, but a phone conference will suffice too. Conferences create opportunities for open communication, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of your student’s needs. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have not yet scheduled a time!

Counselor's Corner
National Career Development Month: Exploring Careers with Kuder Galaxy!
This November and December, our students will be engaging in career exploration with an exciting program called Kuder Galaxy. Tailored to young learners, Kuder Galaxy introduces students to a wide range of careers in a fun, interactive format. Through age-appropriate games, activities, and guided lessons, students begin discovering their interests and strengths while learning about various job roles. This program is designed to inspire curiosity and build confidence in thinking about future goals.
You can continue the conversation at home! Here are some simple ways to support your child’s career exploration:
- Discuss daily tasks: Talk about the different jobs of people your child sees each day, like teachers, doctors, or construction workers, and what their roles entail.
- Connect interests with careers: Ask your child what they enjoyed in Kuder Galaxy and talk about careers that match those interests.
- Encourage dreaming big: Remind your child that any interest can lead to a bright future and that learning is the key to achieving their dreams.
With Kuder Galaxy, students are taking their first steps toward a lifetime of learning and goal-setting. Thank you for supporting their journey!
