Update from Mrs. Lomonico
Happy end of April, TGE families! Another great week in the books! TGE really is the place to be!! Mrs. Holland rocked our 2nd annual First Responder’s Day at TGE. We are screaming thank you to her for her outstanding work in organizing this amazing event! Her dedication and meticulous planning truly made it a huge success. From the drone unit to SWAT, Violet Fire, PPD, K9 unit, and Sheriff Deputies, the entire day was filled with excitement and learning opportunities. Our students had an absolute blast and gained invaluable insights into the world of first responders.
On another note, I am thrilled to announce the end of testing at TGE (except make-ups)! Our students showcased their resilience and determination throughout each testing session, and we couldn't be more proud of their hard work. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible staff for their support and encouragement during this period – your dedication does not go unnoticed.
Next week is staff appreciation week. I want to thank our amazing staff for always going above and beyond for our students. I invite you to join me in showing our gratitude. At TGE, we appreciate every single staff member—from teachers to custodians to everyone in between—because our school couldn't function without them! We've planned a special week to make our teachers and staff feel valued and appreciated:
Monday, May 6th: Shower our staff with thanks by sending in appreciation notes to your teachers and favorite staff members.
Tuesday, May 7th: Dress up like your favorite staff member to show your appreciation.
Wednesday, May 8th: Bring in a sweet treat (edible, craft, flowers, plant) for a staff member or staff members.
Thursday, May 9th: Shower our staff with positive messages (verbal or written).
Friday, May 10th: Bring in homemade artwork for your teachers and favorite staff members.
Let's come together as a school community to show our gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful staff who make Toll Gate Elementary the place to be!
As always, thank you for your continued support and involvement in our TGE community. Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!
Gator up!

Personal Devices during school hours...
We kindly request your assistance in reinforcing our school policy, which advocates for cell phones AND smart watches if being used to call and text to remain securely stored in students' bags and powered off during school hours. This practice is in place to ensure an optimal learning environment for all students, minimizing distractions and allowing them to fully engage in their educational experiences.
By keeping phones in their bags and powered off, we aim to create a focused and respectful atmosphere that promotes learning and collaboration. Additionally, watches should not be used to call or message anyone during the school day. It is our priority to provide an environment where every student can thrive academically and socially.
We appreciate your support in communicating this expectation to your child. Encouraging them to adhere to this policy will contribute to a more productive and positive learning environment for everyone.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or your child's teacher. Your partnership is crucial in maintaining the high standards we set for academic success and a respectful school community.
