Parent Behavior Tip of the Week
Focus: Decision Making
Question: How do you think this decision might make you feel later, and how could it impact the people around you?
This question encourages your child to reflect on both the emotional and relational consequences of their choices, helping them develop a deeper understanding of cause and effect. It also strengthens communication between you. To further support your child in making good choices, take time to discuss potential outcomes together. Talk through decisions—both big and small—and guide them to consider how their actions might affect themselves and others. By exploring both positive and negative consequences, you empower your child to think critically and take responsibility for their decisions, building their decision-making skills over time. This collaborative approach not only helps your child grow but also strengthens your relationship and fosters open communication.
