Parent Volunteers
A Big Thank You to Our Amazing Volunteers!
First and foremost, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who takes the time to volunteer in our classrooms. Your support makes such a difference for our students and staff!
To help ensure a smooth and productive experience for everyone, here are a few friendly reminders for our volunteers:
Coordinate with Your Teacher
Please work with the teacher to set up a schedule that works for everyone. This helps the teacher plan ahead and have everything ready for you this will keep the classroom running smoothly with less interruption.Maintain a Professional Environment
To help students stay focused, we ask that volunteers keep side conversations to a minimum and focus on working with the students assigned to you. Additionally, please remember to use kid-friendly language and maintain appropriate physical boundaries (e.g., if a child wants a hug, itβs okay to gently redirect to a high-five or fist bump).Beginning/End of day
- We love volunteers and we want parents to come in classrooms but with that said the beginning and end of each day is a busy time for greeting and/or dismissing students. We ask that unless you have pre-arranged visits during these times that you wait in the lobby area or contact the teacher via email/class dojo/etc. if you want to schedule a meeting before or after school.
Thank you for your commitment to creating a positive and productive learning environment for our students. We couldnβt do it without you!

Responsibility Focus: Responsibility Chart
This week we are focusing on being safe. What does being safe mean? Talk to your kid/s at home on ways we can be safe, act safe, and stay safe. This could be cutting with scissors, building a campfire, riding a bike, or even personal safety. Take time to have these discussions, we never want to assume our kids just now what it means to be safe. At school we practice using our tools safely, walking safely, playing safely, etc.
School -Wide Skills: CHAMPS
We will focus on Conversation. Think about all the times you have experienced your child/children yelling when they should just be talking in a regular voice or whispering and you have to ask 5 times for them to repeat. Like al skills kids need to know what the expectations are, when should they yell, talk in a regular tone, or whisper? At school we use numbers to describe levels of noise. At recess we are a level 2-3 but in class discussion we are a level 1-2, a level 1 might be a whisper and a level 0 is no voice at all.
