Message from our Principal
HELLO EAGLE FAMILIES!!
Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year! We have completed our first week of school, and it feels amazing to have our students back on campus!
Please review our TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL YEAR listed below. I promise you, they will help make the year run as smoothly as possible for you and your children.
I'd like share some changes to our Weathersfield classroom teaching staff:
- Mrs. Kim Lewis has joined us in 2nd Grade, Room 14. We do still get to see Mrs. Tiffany Garcia as she has taken a position teaching technology skills to staff district-wide.
- Miss Anna Graziano will be teaching 5th Grade, Room 18. Her predecessor, Miss Anna Torraca, is taking a sabbatical from teaching this year.
- We have two new faces in TK: Mrs. Morgan Allen and Mrs. Kristine Crivier.
- Mrs. Jill Raaf has moved from TK to 1st Grade.
- Mrs. Gutierrez and and Mrs. Szakos are our new classroom music teachers.
Starting Monday, August 26th, we will begin implementing our 8:20 message for parents to begin leaving campus so that our students can line and prepare for their day of learning. I respectfully ask that all parents/ guardians begin exiting the campus at this time so the gates can be locked at 8:23. Please avoid coming through the office to exit, as it is a very small space and gets extremely crowded in the mornings. We appreciate your cooperation.
Friendly reminder...the Weathersfield staff parking lot is not to be used for student drop-off or pick-up and the limited parking available is designated for Weathersfield staff use only, with the exception of two 10 minute visitor spots and two handicap parking spots. Please do not block any part of the parking lot entry or exit areas or neighbor driveways and mailboxes. It's important that you also not park in the red zones on the street or park in the drop-off/pick-up area on Camino Calandria and leave your car for any length of time. In short, please be considerate of your fellow parents, our neighbors, and your Weathersfield staff and teachers. Many thanks!
Lastly, parents, we could use your help. Many students have been observed jay-walking across Camino Calandria to reach their family vehicle at pick-up. The traffic patterns on Camino Calandria at pick-up time presents a safety hazard to these children. All children who need to cross the street should only do so at the crosswalk under the supervision of our wonderful crossing guard, Andre.
Have wonderful week!

Tips for a Successful School Year
- Number 1 Tip: Read the weekly Eagle Flyer, the school newsletter! The Eagle Flyer is sent to parent email addresses every Sunday during the school year. This is where you will find information on all upcoming campus events, issues, etc. The Eagle Flyer is also posted to our website. If you are not receiving the Eagle Flyer, please call the front office.
- The Weathersfield Website is another excellent source to keep you informed.
- Label your child's belongings primarily jackets, sweatshirts, lunch boxes, and water bottles with your student's full name. Lunch boxes and water bottles should also include your child's classroom and/or teacher's name. Missing something? Check the Lost & Found located in the Quad.
- Set Your Child Up For A GREAT School Day! Have your child eat a solid breakfast and be to school a little early so that they can "get their wiggles out" on the playground in the morning. Our play yard is open and supervised from 8:00am-8:25am every morning.
- If you have a trip planned which will take your child out of school between 3-14 days, be proactive and set up a Short-Term Independent Study via the Front Office so that your child may receive school attendance credit and not fall behind at school.
- Keep your contact information updated with the Front Office. This is absolutely critical for emergency contact reasons. For the health and safety of your child, we must be able to reach you. This begins at the start of each year when families are asked to complete the Annual Updates for each student.
- Know the ATTENDANCE and SICK CHILD GUIDELINES, especially the fever policy. They matter!

Physical Education
Physical Education with Mr. Kreisberg, our certified CVUSD-provided PE teacher, begins this week. Mr. Kreisberg will be on campus Mondays and Wednesdays. Our campus PE teachers, Sam Muscarella and Brianna Inman, will begin the week of September 16. Your child will enjoy PE twice per week, once with Mr. Kreisberg and once with Mrs. Muscarella and Mrs. Inman. Your child's teacher will advise you of your child's PE days.
WHAT SHOULD STUDENTS WEAR ON P.E. DAYS? Proper clothing and footwear on P.E. days is important for your child's comfort and safety. Athletic shoes are STRONGLY recommended to avoid injury.
