Dear Families,
As we dive into October, we have an exciting month ahead filled with learning and exploration! Here’s what your child will be focusing on in each subject:
ELAR (English Language Arts & Reading):
Current Unit: Animal Classification
This unit is all about becoming zoologists! Students will explore the fascinating world of animals by classifying them through engaging read-alouds and independent readings. It’s a fun way to combine science and literacy!
Mid-October: The Human Body
Next, we will shift our focus to the human body. Students will learn about how our bones, muscles, and nervous system work together. Understanding our bodies is crucial, and we’ll become experts on how to keep them healthy and functioning!
Math:
This month, we will be rounding two- and three-digit numbers to the nearest 10 and 100. Students will practice these skills through hands-on activities and real-world applications, building a strong foundation in number sense.
Science:
We are wrapping up our unit on animal growth and behavior, and soon we’ll start exploring forces. Students will learn about pushes and pulls and how they affect movement in the world around us.
Social Studies:
In Social Studies, we will continue our studies on government. We will discuss what it takes to be a good citizen and how government functions in our daily lives.
Important Reminders:
- Please remember the days your child should stay for UIL practices.
-Don't forget to send a healthy dry snack.
Thank you for your continued support at home. We’re looking forward to a fantastic month of learning!
