CCHS Students & Families:
Earlier this fall, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce released report cards for schools and districts across the state. I am proud to share that CCHS earned 3 Stars, which is designated as Meets State Standards. A couple highlights from the report card include our 4-year graduation rate increased to 90.0% and our Algebra 1 Progress component was the highest possible rating - Significant evidence that the school exceeded student growth expectations by a larger magnitude. We want to thank our students, staff, and families for all of their contributions to these successes.
One significant area of focus for this school year is improving our student daily attendance. Last school year, our Chronic Absenteeism rate was 46.6%. The state defines Chronic Absenteeism as a student that misses 10% or more of the instructional days for any reason. This is approximately 18 school days. We appreciate your help in making sure students are here every day, as attendance is the first step in supporting our students in reaching their goals.
2023-2024 CCHS State Report Card
At the beginning of the school year there were many questions regarding the implementation of the new cell phone policy. I am proud to share that our students are doing a fantastic job of keeping their cell phones away during classes. As I visit classrooms, students are more focused on instruction and actively engaged in learning. Thank you to our parents and families for your support in this area.
We are also excited to announce our new CCHS official Instagram account. Follow us at cchs_comets to see many exciting events happening with our students.
Go Comets!
