New Semester
Welcome back after what I hope was a fun and relaxing winter break. We are excited to start second semester on a positive note. We will be spending some time reviewing the behavioral expectations for the school and in the classroom. We will continue to focus on students who are following these expectations by giving them SOAR tickets that are put into a weekly drawing for a prize from the Cart of Joy. We are also creating a way to promote positive attendance in class. Regular school attendance is critical for students academic and social success. More information on this to come, but classrooms with the highest rate of attendance will celebrate with a banner outside their door and a party. We will also continue to celebrate students at our monthly student of the Month Assemblies. Here is a copy of our behavioral expectations for multiple locations around the school. Please support our efforts at school by reviewing these with your child.

Capital High Basketball Invites Morley Nelson to a Game
The last few years Capital has been trying to get feeder schools to the amazing capital basketball games we have for the incentive of a free entry and a great experience. This year we want to make it bigger and better! On January 16th our school has been invited to watch the Eagles take on Meridian High School at Capital High. Our students and their families get in for free, will have their own section to be with their friends, and will have the chance to be in our halftime show! We want to make this a tradition for all the future eagles and hope you feel the same.
Capital High Wrestling Club
For those who do not know me, my name is Taylor Gowdy and I coach wrestling at Capital High School.
Starting in January, we will be running our youth wrestling program, Capital Wrestling Club, for your students and future Eagles. This is a great opportunity for everyone to get introduced to the sport of wrestling early on. Wrestling helps develop self-confidence, grit, competitiveness, and physical and mental strength. CWC is open to all kids, elementary and junior high ages.
Practices start on January 7th and will run every Tuesday-Thursday from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm until the end of the season.
If you know anyone who may be interested in wrestling for Capital Wrestling Club, please see this information.
