KCSD’s Spring Parent-Teacher conferences will be here soon. All families have received an email outlining the online scheduling process. Conferences will take place on Tuesday, April 8, Wednesday, April 9, and Thursday, April 10. In addition to early dismissals on conference days, all students will enjoy a half day on Friday, April 11. There will be an early dismissal for:

- All middle school students at 11:30 am
- All kindergarten students at 12:00 pm
- All elementary students at 12:30 pm
ALL KCSD schools will be utilizing online scheduling for conferences through Skyward, except the middle school where a child’s KMS teacher or team will directly request a conference. For more information regarding conferences, please check your email or go to our website for more details.
It's Almost Time
Grades 3 - 8 Will Be Testing Soon
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania requires all school districts to administer the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) in grades 3 - 8 to measure a student's attainment of the Pennsylvania Standards in English-Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, and Science.
KCSD has scheduled PSSA testing from April 28 - May 6, 2025 as follows:
- April 28-30: ELA PSSA Window
- May 1-2: Math PSSA Window
- May 5-6: Science PSSA Window (only grades 5 and 8)
For more information about PSSA Testing, check your email or go to our Teaching and Learning section of the kcsd.org website and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania PSSA section of their website.
Keystone and AP Exams Scheduled for Spring
While our students in grades 3 - 8 prepare for the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) testing, some of our secondary students in grades 7 - 11 are preparing for Keystone testing. Other students in grades 9 - 12 are also preparing for Advanced Placement (AP) Exams as well.
The Keystone exams were created to replace the Grade 11 PSSA and serve as one component of Pennsylvania's statewide high school graduation requirement. Keystone exams will help school districts guide students toward meeting state standards. The exams are end-of-course assessments designed to assess proficiency in the subject areas of Algebra I, Literature, and Biology. Students must take the Keystone exams for purposes of federal accountability.
Check your email for details about Keystone testing and look for more information from your middle school or high school principals and teachers in the days ahead to indicate which Keystone exams your child requires.

Kennett Middle School Chorus to Perform the National Anthem
More than 1,000 Tickets Sold for May 4th Phillies Game
Although ticket sales have closed at KCSD for the May 4 Phillies game vs the Arizona Diamondbacks, Kennett sold enough tickets to guarantee our chorus the opportunity to perform the National Anthem! This wonderful program brings our community together for a ballgame while providing a cheering section for our chorus members. While we do not have extra tickets to share, we invite anyone interested in joining us at the game to purchase tickets through the Phillies organization or anywhere tickets are sold.
