Dear Oak Ridge R-6 Families,


I can't believe we are already enjoying the last days of July! Enclosed you will find some basic back to school information to help you plan. Each building principal will send out specific information for each building in the coming week.


If you need help with resources for your family, please let me know. We have access to many resources to help families in need. Students learn best when their essential needs are being met. As always, contact me if you have any questions or concerns. We are here to help!

Students' First Day Of School Is August 20th

Early Childhood Enrollment Information

Kim Scheffer will be in contact with early childhood parents that have requested for their child to be enrolled. She will make contact by phone next week regarding the enrollment process. Once Kim has made initial contact with you to get the information she needs to set the student up in our information system, you will complete an official online enrollment process. We will also be hosting an early childhood enrollment day on August 14th from 10am-6pm for parents that need additional help with this process.

K-12 Enrollment, Immunization, And Open House Information

August 12th: 6th, 7th, 8th Grade Enrollment Help-HS Office 10:00am-6:00pm

August 13th: 9th, 10th, 11th Grade Enrollment Help-HS Office 10:00am-6:00pm

August 14th: 12th Grade Enrollment Help-HS Office 10:00am-6:00pm

August 14th: Early Childhood Enrollment Help-Elementary Office 10:00am-6:00pm

August 15th: K-5 Enrollment Help Night-Elementary Office 5:00pm-8:00pm

*Parents with students in multiple grades can enroll all students on the same day.


August 15th: EC-12th Grade Open House 5:00pm-8:00pm

August 15th: Kindergarten Orientation-6:00pm-6:30pm

6-12th Grade Shivelbines Instrument Preview 5:00pm-8:00pm

6th Grade Orientation-6:30pm-7:00pm

7th Grade Orientation-7:00pm-7:30pm


The Cape Giradeau County Health Department will be on campus August 14th and 16th for any student needing back to school immunizations. Students needing updated immunizations will be 8th and 12th grade students.


*All enrollments will be completed online. Attendance at enrollment days is not required but all students must have online enrollment completed before they will receive their class schedule.


Enrollment is done through the students' Teacher Ease portal. See the link below.


If you have already completed 2024-2025 student enrollment last spring or over the summer, it is not necessary to do it again.

Permission To Park Bike On Campus Form
Students that plan to ride a bike to and from school must have this permission slip outlining bike safety on campus on file in the office prior to bikes being allowed on campus.
Bus Transportation Request Form
Complete this form for routing bus transportation to or from school. Call 573-266-3232 if you have questions or need a temporary bus change.
Parents As Teachers (PAT) Request For Services Form
Parents As Teachers (PAT) is a free program to help expectant parents and parents with students age birth through kindergarten age to ensure their children are reaching developmental milestones and are ready for school.
