Participants will: 1) Know how to create assignments in Schoology for use as homework, projects, test prep, bell-ringers, exit tickets etc. 2) Know how to link files from their school Google Drive directly into Schoology. 3) Understand how students will be able to use Schoology in conjunction with their student school Google Drives. 4) Know how to send pre-existing assignments in Microsoft Word, PDF format etc. to their school Google Drive to then be linked to Schoology without having to start.

Learn how to create a formal and informal assessment in Schoology. Learn how to import tests from E-Doctrina, Microsoft Word, etc from there directly into Schoology and understand how to create assessment completely from scratch.
Trauma, the Brain and its Impact on Learning

In this 2-hour workshop, participants will learn the effects of trauma on the brain, recognize these effects in their classroom, and learn strategies for addressing student needs in the classroom. This is an introductory overview of trauma and its effects. Workshop Objectives:
• To gain a better understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences
• Understand the impact of trauma on the brain and the effect on learning
• Learn about trauma-informed approaches in schools
• Introduction to the NYS Social Emotional Learning Standards
Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope film screening and the Brain Architecture Game

In this 3-hour workshop, participants will be able to view the 1hr. documentary Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope (2016) that delves into the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the birth of a new movement to treat and prevent Toxic Stress. Participants will then engage in playing the Brain Architecture Game in teams. The Brain Architecture Game is a tabletop game experience that builds an understanding of the powerful role of experiences on early brain development - what promotes it, what derails it, and the consequences for society.
Workshop Objectives:
• To learn the biological impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences
• To make the connection between early life experiences and later development for individuals
• Learn about different forms of stress
Strategies for Building Resilience in the Classroom

Target Audience: K-12 Teachers & Staff
For this 2-hour workshop, participants should come with a base level understanding of ACEs and the effects of trauma. We will dive deeper into classroom strategies to help promote resiliency in the classroom. Topics to be addressed include protective factors, relationship building activities, practices that teach the whole child and align the NYS social-emotional learning benchmarks to the current curriculum. Participants will work in groups to reflect on their current classroom practices, the needs of students in their classroom, and the action plan on how to implement supports for students in need. Workshop objectives:
• To develop teaching strategies to promote resilience in the classroom
• Begin to develop an action plan for implementation of trauma-informed approaches
Paper Tigers Film Screening and Discussion

In this 2.5 hour workshop, participants will watch the 2016 Paper Tigers film which follows a year in the life of an alternative high school in Walla Walla, Washington that has radically changed its approach to disciplining its students, becoming a promising model for how to break the cycles of poverty, violence, and disease that affect families. After watching this 102 min film, participants will engage in a discussion regarding what it means to be trauma-informed school and ways to integrate these strategies into classrooms and at a systems level in their school. This workshop is best suited for those who have an interest in supporting and engaging families and students beyond the classroom. Workshop Objectives:
• Explore all five protective factors
• Learn about seven strategies that help families to build those protective factors
• Reflect upon what it means to work with families in a strength-based way
