Upcoming spirit night - Texas Stars
Book Character Dress Up Day will be on October 31st.
This is a day for students to come dressed in their favorite character from a book! Students need to bring a copy of the book with them to accompany their costume. PK and Kinder students will take a parade walk around the campus for students and teachers and then around the perimeter of the school for parents to see them and snap some pics! The PK/Kinder parade will begin at 8:00 a.m. Parents may park and stand along the side parking lots (by the blacktop and/or the side by the Plantation neighborhood). We ask that you do not stand along the front driveway as we may have students still getting dropped off for school. As always, the back circle drive is reserved for staff member parking only. Due to the safety of all students and everyone needing to be signed in through Raptor, parents will not be able to come inside to see the parade. Thank you for understanding! Should we need to adjust our plans due to weather we will communicate through a special eNews and our Remind App.
See below for appropriate attire and/or banned items for Book Character Dress Up Day!
Classroom parties are not associated with this celebration.
Students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character. They may choose any character from a book they enjoy.
Please make sure your child’s costume:
Is not violent or frightening;
Has no weapons or dangerous-looking items;
Meets the school dress code.
The following are just a few ideas of acceptable costume choices, and some examples of unacceptable choices.
Acceptable Examples Unacceptable Examples
Fancy Nancy Characters from Goosebumps
Greg Heffley (the Wimpy Kid) Vampires
Ramona Characters with guns or weapons
Babymouse Captain Underpants
Community Tables at Lunch
Last Monday we added Community Tables in the cafeteria. These tables will allow for additional space for guardians to sit with their child while joining them for lunch. These tables will be marked and are going to be on the far wall of the cafeteria as you walk in. Guardians that sign in to each lunch with their child are asked only to dine with their student at the table.
Pre-K Open Spots
Old Town Elementary is excited to offer both non-tuition and tuition-based Pre-K4. Please visit the Round Rock ISD Pre Kindergarten webpage for the online registration link and additional information. Link: https://prek.roundrockisd.org/

Library Books
Families, please help your child keep their library books safe. This includes not putting water bottles in backpacks. We have already lost several books this year due to water bottles in backpacks. Thanks for your support!
Visitors on Campus
We love seeing you on campus! Please help us ensure student safety each and every time you visit campus. All visitors are required to check in at the front office using our RAPTOR program. We kindly ask for your understanding and partnership.
Safety at Dismissal
Please remember the following when picking up your Texan at the end of the day:
Guardians who are picking up their Texan as a walker/ parent pick up from the blacktop must park their vehicles in a parking spot and walk to retrieve their child. Double parking at any time is not allowed. Parking spots open up frequently. If you are not wanting to park in a parking spot, you can join our car rider line and request a number here: Rider Number Request- New to Old Town Request.
Please utilize the crosswalks when navigating the parking lot. Let us help you safely cross the parking lot. Guardians should not cross the car rider line indicated by the yellow cones at any time.
Thank you for being mindful of the speed of your vehicle at all times and remaining off of your cell phone in the School Zone.
Our top priority is student safety.
Thank you for helping Old Town keep all students, families, and staff safe at dismissal.
On Time and Ready to Learn
Instruction begins for our campus at 7:35 am.
Having each student arrive on time and ready to learn is critical.
Should you arrive with your child after 7:40 am please park and sign your child in at the front office. To keep students safe, we do not leave any door propped open unsupervised without a staff member past 7:40am.
