Happy Sunday!
Thank you to all of you that attended parent/teacher conferences for your student(s). We hope that Monday was beneficial for you and your student. If you did not get a chance to meet with your child's teacher, please work with them to set up a conference. Thank you for prioritizing your child's education!
Next year's Academic Calendar (25-26) school year will be presented at next month's board meeting for approval. We will share the final copy as soon as it's approved.

Power School Parent Portal Access
CGS Parents, if you are in need of assistance with creating or accessing your child's Power School account, please use this form. The Parent Portal through Power School is a great way to get live updates as to how your student is progressing in their classroom studies.

High School Campus Updates
Greetings, Grizzly Families!
Thank you for supporting our Hurricane Aid and Relief project, sponsored by the Mentor Program. Mr. Graham and our students are working hard to gather supplies. There is still time to donate! Our goal is to continue to collect items through this week.
This week is Red Ribbon Week. We look forward to seeing our scholars participating in the bully prevention theme days. #BeKind
Our 9th graders will take the PSAT 8/9 on Monday, October 28th. We will begin promptly after the morning announcements.

SENIORS
The early action deadline for several colleges and universities is Friday, November 1st. Please contact Dr. Morris if you need support with your applications.

Presentation link from Dr. Morris for CFNC and CommonApp. Please be sure to complete the Residency Determination Service form with your scholar and begin gathering the documents needed for FASFA. The FASFA portal will be opening by December 1st.

ACC Course Registration:
An ACC representative will be contacting students enrolled for Spring semester courses at ACC to schedule an advising meeting. They will receive information about in-person advising at Clover Garden on November 5th & 7th, with the ZOOM option on November 4th. Mrs. Sutton will share a specific Phone/ZOOM advising link for the next two weeks in case there are students who want to schedule a phone or ZOOM in the first two weeks of October.
Introducing NCICU Direct Admission
Introducing NCICU Direct Admission for 26 Colleges and Universities
Twenty-six North Carolina private colleges and universities are offering eligible students more immediate acceptance to their campuses for the 2025-2026 academic year. North Carolina Independent Colleges & Universities (NCICU) recently announced the Direct Admission Program to provide a seamless and swift application process. North Carolina seniors with a weighted GPA of 2.8 or higher can answer a few straightforward questions and then receive information directly from the colleges and universities of their choice, including details about conditional acceptance, specific campus requirements, and available financial aid options.

Shout out to our Before and After School Staff
Shout out to our Before and After School staff for attending Professional Development last Monday when school was closed. These amazing ladies came in for training with Nurse Corbett and Mrs. Vereyken in regards to school safety/emergency response training as it relates to the supervision of our Grizzly students enrolled in before and after school. Thank you to Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Spencer for attending and assisting with this professional development as well. #safetyfirst #learningGrizzlies

Hurricane Helene Aid and Relief Drive

Our Jr. Civitans Club will be adopting a charter school this school year that was catastrophically impacted by Hurricane Helene. CGS will be working together with other charter schools to support FernLeaf Community Charter School located in Fletcher, NC. They will begin collections this week and they will run throughout the school year. There will be a flyer coming soon with more details but some of the teachers at that school created wish lists, etc. of things they need as their elementary school was a total loss due to flooding. All forms must be completed in Dragonfly, along with your current physical uploaded. 100% should be shown in Dragonfly. This will be checked the first day of tryouts, and your student will not be allowed to enter the gym unless everything is completed.
