From the Principal
As we approach November 15, which marks the end of our first trimester, it's a perfect time for students to reflect on their progress and celebrate the hard work they've put in so far. Families can support this reflection by discussing accomplishments, identifying areas for growth, and setting new goals for the next trimester. We're proud of the efforts shown by our students and look forward to even more growth in Trimester 2.
Our Basketball and Cheer teams are pretty busy for the next few weeks. Come on out and root them on! Let's pack the place.
Veterans Day is also an essential time for our school community, offering us the chance to unite and honor those who have served. Our Veterans Day assembly is a meaningful tradition, helping students understand the importance of service and gratitude. We hope families will join us in recognizing this day by discussing its significance at home. Please wear red, white, and blue on Monday!
Thanksgiving break is coming soon, so keep pushing hard. That will be a valuable chance to rest, recharge, and enjoy family time. Thank you for your continued partnership in making this a positive, engaging, and supportive school year!

Intermediate Team Ideas
This week in math, third graders reviewed the various multiplication strategies they have learned and started to explore division. To kick off a new unit in reading, they read a few Aesop fables to practice making inferences about characters’ actions. The 3rd graders in 3/4 Brach have begun another novel study. They are reading The One and Only Ivan. They are also researching the animals found in The One and Only Ivan. They will use this research to write an essay answering the question-How do animals show intelligence? 4th grade Brach has started a novel study for the book Number the Stars. They are also researching what life was like during World War 2 to better appreciate and understand the novel. Their research will answer the question-What was life like for the people of Copenhagen during 1942? This week, 5th graders analyzed a speech by Lyndon B. Johnson to determine the reasoning behind his argument. They also created food webs in their ecosystem science unit.
Middle School Stories
This was an interesting week for the Middle School. Many thanks to Mr. Kahlfeldt for his efforts coordinating the student election process and helping our students feel more connected to their world around them! Students should note that the end of the first Trimester is this coming Friday, November 15th. This would be a great time for students with concerns about their grades to initiate conversations with their teachers. We are looking forward to our Veteran’s Day Assembly on Monday, as well as Parent-Teacher conferences on Tuesday night. Finish the term strong, Tigers!
Specials Team Happenings!
n our middle school elective photography class, students completed two different levels of stop motion videos before planning their own videos. There was so much creativity and engagement during our last two classes.
In our 5th grade digital citizenship class, we have been talking about using the iPad in a positive way. The students helped brainstorm a list of optional daily mini projects that we could create with our iPads to help spread kindness for the month of November.
