What Are We Working On?
Beginning Choirs:
- We are working on our Fall concert repertoire! Your student is learning how to number measures, count rhythms, and how to read a sheet of music using solfege and the corresponding Curwen hand-signs. We are starting at the basics of pitch, rhythm, note values in order to achieve a superior level of Music Literacy. The Beginning Boys have two Folk songs, and the Beginning Girls have a Spanish Folk Song and a song about a Willow Tree.
JV Choirs:
- We are working on sight-reading in two parts using correct rhythm and solfege hand signs. Each JV class has two choral songs that they are working on for the Fall Concert. They are sounding great!
Varsity Choirs:
- Each class has 3-4 challenging pieces for the Fall Concert. These pieces are learned for the All-Region audition process. They will be showcased at the Fall Concert with the AMS Varsity Choirs. These students are working bell to bell everyday getting these pieces learned and polished!
Meet the Directors!
Noah McGuire, Head Director

Noah holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education with a Vocal Performance emphasis and Choral Conducting from Southern Nazarene University. He started his teaching career in Azle ISD, where he stayed for three years leading choirs with students in grades 6th-8th. Noah has dedicated his years to fostering a love of choral education and instilling choral excellence into young minds. Noah's choirs have consistently won Sweepstakes at UIL and received superior ratings at other adjudicated contests throughout the state. Mr. McGuire is honored to be back at GMS and is excited to start a new year!
Regina Wright, Assistant Director
Regina Wright is beginning her teaching career as the assistant director at GMS. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education with an emphasis in Vocal Performance from Tarleton State University. While at Tarleton, she sang with the University Singers, Chamber choir, and Texan Harmony. As an undergrad, Regina won the Center Stage Scholarship twice, and was awarded the Outstanding Vocalist between 2022-2023. Previous to undergrad, Regina sang in every All-Region choir between 7th-12th grade and performed with the Encore show choir all throughout high school. Singing has taken her all over the United States and across the sea to England! Ms. Wright has always wanted to be a teacher; her dream is coming true with the opportunity to work with the talented students at GMS. Let's sing!
