Pleasant Valley Family Newsletter
February 28, 2025

Hello PV Families,
It was another wonderful week here at PV. We began with our B & G assembly, hosted by Mrs. Lotter’s second grade class. The event was a true celebration of student talent and creativity, featuring performances by the winners of our poetry contest, an interpretative dance by Ms. Cherko’s class, and a musical presentation by our kindergarten and first grade students. It was a beautiful whole-school moment, and we hope you enjoy the photos shared below.
This week, our preschool program also had a special in-school visit from the local fire department. Students were able to engage with our community helpers, learn about fire safety, and explore the fire truck, which made for a memorable and educational experience.
Next week, we will begin our Benchmark Assessments in Math and ELA across all grade levels. In addition to our academic focus, students will continue participating in field trips that extend their learning beyond the classroom. We are incredibly grateful to our PTO for sponsoring a field trip for every grade level and for helping us provide these enriching opportunities.
We will conclude the week with our annual Field Day celebration. Families are reminded to check the newsletter below for the color assigned to each grade level so students can come dressed accordingly.
On Tuesday, May 20, we invite students and staff to participate in “Wear Your Favorite Color Day” in honor of our beloved custodian, Mr. Bob St. Onge. We ask that participants bring in a donation of one dollar or more, which will go toward a gift in his memory. Those wishing to contribute a larger amount may do so through the PTO by earmarking the donation for Mr. Bob. The funds collected will be used to purchase a picnic table for the school courtyard, complete with a plaque to commemorate his legacy.
Our Grade 5 Girls on the Run participants completed their 5K this past weekend, and it was a truly inspiring event. To close out their year, they are organizing a collection of items for a local animal shelter from 5/19-5/23. Please see the flyer below for more information on how to support their effort.
We are also looking forward to the Yard Goats game, scheduled for June 14th, 2025. If you have not yet purchased your tickets, please use the QR code below to reserve your spot.
Finally, kindly read our newsletter in its entirety for all upcoming events such as Mrs. Didden's retirement celebration at PV, Authors visits in May and June, Instrumental music showcase and new articles and poems on the PV webzine site and more. You may also access all previous newsletters at the conclusion of the newsletter.
Wishing everyone a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
Sincerely,
Esther & Jenna
