Parent Academy Session #2- Guiding with Care: Discipline and Building Healthy Boundaries

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for last week’s Parent Academy—it was a fantastic event. We’re so grateful for your participation. The kids had a great time enjoying games and treats, and parents gained valuable insights into social media and cyberbullying.

Looking ahead, don’t miss our next Parent Academy session next month! The topic will be discipline and setting boundaries, and we’ll have a delicious BBQ dinner along with fun activities for the kids.

This week is a great opportunity to check in with your child about their progress. Ask them to show you their Schoology account to ensure they’re staying on track. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to support you.

Attendance is Key to Success! 📚✨

🌟 Important Attendance Guidelines:

• Students should aim for no more than 7 absences during the school year to stay on track.
• Missing 15 or more days means a student is considered chronically absent, which is a strong predictor of lower academic achievement.

To support our students and families, SFiAM now has an amazing attendance counselor, Ms. Dorado, who will be checking in with families experiencing high absence totals. Her goal is to work with you to help ensure your child is in school every day and has the best opportunity to thrive. 💪
