Principal Message - Kanika A. Burks
Good Morning MCP: Lola Rowe North Families,
Please enjoy the video above that highlights all of the Black History Month programs in the MCP Network. A special shout out to LahLi C., class of 2029 (7th grade), and Ms. Wilder, Office Administrator. Their voices represented the MCP: Lola Rowe North Campus in our network's rendition of Lift Every Voice and Sing. Your feedback has been truly valued and will be utilized as we begin to plan and prepare for our 2025 Black Excellence Event. If you have not done so, please complete the Black Excellence Family Survey by using this link https://forms.gle/kx7pYQcgRHSui1Dr6.
March is National March into Literacy Month and our theme at the North Campus this Week is Read to Succeed Week! It is important that our entire school community has a love of reading!! We kicked off our week on Monday during assembly. Tuesday was Read Together Tuesday and scholars read with a friend in the classroom, their One School One Mission Partners or read to their stuffed animal, doll or action figure. While of 3rd - 8th graders are in Wednesday assembly, our K4 - 2nd grade scholars will enjoy being virtually read to by listening to one of the stories from the following two websites:
Thursday our scholars are invited to bring their favorite book to school and/or dress as their favorite character from a book!!! Mystery Readers will visit our campus to read their favorite books to our scholars!! Friday is Books, Bows, Bow Ties, Buddies and Blue Jeans Day!! We will end our week wearing fun attire and spending the afternoon with our One School One Mission Reading Buddies.
Our 7th Grade Scholars traveled to Camp Whitcomb Mason on Monday to begin their two day team building experience!! They had the opportunity to work together through various obstacles and challenges. They also had an opportunity to explore nature, while getting to know one another better and to spend some time reflecting on who they are, what they want and where they are going! Shout out to the 7th Grade Team for chaperoning this overnight camping trip and supporting our scholars as they continue to learn and grow!!
This newsletter is filled with important information. Pertinent information from the previous newsletter is below the new information. Please be sure to read the entire newsletter until you see the MCP logo!!

Special Dietary Needs
Parents of children who have special dietary needs based on a severe food allergy or religious restrictions must fill out the Medical Statement for Special Dietary Needs form and have it signed by their child’s physician. This must be turned into the main office. Milwaukee College Prep may choose, at their discretion, to make a food substitution, but is not required to provide a substitution.

A Message from our Chief Education Officer
A Message from Our Chief Academic Officer
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Wisconsin Students in Grades 3rd-8th will be participating in the Forward assessment during the March 18th - April 26th testing window.
The Forward assessment tests students in the areas of Mathematics and English Language Arts. In addition, 4th and 8th graders will be assessed in Social Studies and Science. One or more subtests may be administered daily during the identified time frame and it is very important that your son or daughter be in school during this time. Students not in school on the scheduled testing days will be scheduled for a make-up test prior to the close of the testing window.
Here is an Informational Brochure for Families which gives more information about the assessment including its purpose, what scores will be provided, and how the scores will be used.
The Forward assessment measures the knowledge and skills your student(s) should have acquired by the time they reach each grade level. Their performance on the assessment will not affect any of their current grades. Please encourage your son or daughter to take the test seriously and do the best they can. The results of these tests will be used to help school staff make determinations or placement in classes to best support your child(ren).
If you have any questions, please contact Amber Aulozzi at amber.aulozzi@milwcollegeprep.com.
