- 988 is available for someone going through a crisis OR anyone worried about someone else going through a crisis (family member, friend, etc).
- A crisis does not have to be suicide. It can be any mental health challenge or substance abuse challenge
- A mental health challenge can be feelings of distress, someone needing support
- A counselor will listen, provide support and share resources when applicable
- You can call, text or chat with 988 to talk with a trained counselor and it is kept confidential
- They have specialized trained counselors for LGBTQI+ youth and spanish speaking counselors
