We have the privilege of honoring our Veterans on Friday, November 8th during a morning assembly from 9:40-10:30am. We hope you will consider joining us; all of our families are invited to attend. Our 8th grade band will be playing, we will have a guest speaker and there will be a slideshow honoring the Veterans of our HMS community.

In order for us to keep our Chromebooks updated, we are going to begin the process of an automatic reboot and update for student Chromebooks. This process will start for the first time on Monday, November 18th at 4:00am. This will continue to happen weekly on Mondays at 4:00am.

If a Chromebook is in use at that time (hopefully unlikely), the user would see a message stating the device will restart soon (around 30 minutes). If a Chromebook is powered off or in sleep mode (lid closed), it will restart the next time the lid is opened. It will appear to the user that the Chromebook is just taking a few extra seconds to power on and then they will be presented with the regular login page. A message may be displayed after login stating that the Chromebook was restarted.

I just wanted to communicate this out to all of you. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Just like spirit weeks, our annual food drive is a REALLY big deal at HMS! This is a long time HMS tradition and we had so much fun last year, we are excited to get started for 2024! The first day of our food drive begins on Friday, November 15th and will run through Friday, December 13th. Families and students are able to bring in food. I have added all the specialty food dates to the Upcoming Events below.

If you are able we would love for you all to help us meet or exceed our goal. These items are donated locally to help families in our community.

Our winter sports season is getting underway and we hope that you will have an opportunity to support our teams at an upcoming event. Go Hornets!

Girls Basketball registration is open on FinalForms and tryouts will begin Monday January 27th. Please make sure that your athlete has a current physical on file, and all forms are signed through FinalForms. Final Form Registration

WE ARE SO EXCITED!!!

On Friday, November 15th ASB will be hosting our first social of the year from 5:00-7:00pm! The social will be a place for our students to connect with other students during an after school event. There will be music, games, food for purchase, and a photo booth.

Ticket sales started today, November 1st. They are $11.00 with an ASB card and $13.00 without. Since this event helps us kick off our food drive, we are also asking for one canned food item with a ticket purchase.

Families of 8th graders, please don't forget to go into your Treering account and upload your child's baby picture. We currently don't have a deadline on this, but the sooner you could do this, the better.

Dear HMS Families,

We have had such a wonderful week, even though our schedule was a little crazy. We had an AMAZING turn out for conferences! We had such a positive feeling throughout the whole experience. Thank you so much for taking time to meet with all of us about your students. A huge thank you to all of you who stopped by to say hi to us, it truly makes such a difference to put faces to names.

If you celebrate, we hope you all had a fun Halloween! The kids all rolled in here tired from last night, but excited all the same. Halloween always reminds us that even though our students look older, at the end of the day, they are all still kids. That always brings a smile to our faces.

Next week we have our first boys basketball game on Thursday, 11/7! I know many of us are looking forward to it. We also have our annual PWT Binglow event on Friday, 11/8 from 5:00-8:00. We hope you will consider joining us for both events!

On Friday, we will be honoring our Veterans during our Veterans Day Assembly starting at 9:40am. All of our families are invited.
