Family Update
Dublin Jerome High School
THINK TEAM
August 9, 2024
A message from me...
Good Afternoon!
We are fast approaching our first day of school and we are excited to welcome everyone back to Jerome! DCS has three core values that we work from:
- TAKE RESPONSIBILITY: Own Your Attitude and Action
- ALWAYS GROWING: Embrace the Journey
- BETTER TOGETHER: Think Team
This year we will focus on Thinking Team. Great teams care, communicate, connect, collaborate, and celebrate. Over the first 15 days will will focus on a few behaviors to explore and understand the expectations for our team.
Week 1 (Aug. 15 and 16): CELEBRATE
- Celebrate the return to school as a community.
WEEK 2 (Aug. 19-23): CARE and COMMUNICATE
- Class Meetings and Picture Day
- DJHS Club Fair Wed. Aug. 21
- Classroom relationship building and understanding expectations.
- Establishing our classroom and building communities
I hope that this weekend offers some time for preparation and relaxation. Enjoy your weekend and we will see everyone on Thursday!
Mike
BACK TO SCHOOL INFORMATION
Personal Communication Device (PCD) Practices
In May, 2024, Ohio Governor DeWine signed House Bill 250, which included a requirement that school districts have policies in place for this school year that limit student cell phone use as much as possible during school hours and reduce cell phone-related distractions in classroom settings.
Over the summer all Dublin 9-12 buildings collaborated to develop a set of practices for students throughout their school day. Our team reviewed DCS Policy 5136 to develop our practices. The poster to the right included the practices and details for our students during the 2024-2025 School Year.
If you would like to learn more about the policy requirements in House Bill 250, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce created a webpage which can be accessed here. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Daily Bell Schedules and Working Wednesday
All Dublin High Schools and Emerald Campus have staff professional development called Working Wednesday. These Wednesdays provide important opportunities for our staff to collaborate and learn together. Below are links to our daily bell schedule (M,T,Th,F) and our Working Wednesdays.
Our first Working Wednesday will be Wednesday, Aug. 21.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lunches: Students are assigned a lunch during their 5th Period class either A, B, or C. Students have 30 minutes to eat lunch and have class during the other times: A Lunch/BC-Class, B Lunch/AC-Class, C Lunch/AB-Class. Seating is open and students are able to move about the commons during that time.
Aramark is our new Food Service provider for 2024-25. You may add money to student accounts at PaySchools.
Parking Passes
Early next week Seniors will receive an email with specific details for parking passes that will include a link to register. Students may drive next week without a pass but will be required to purchase one during their designated window.
- Students are permitted to drive to school on the first days without a pass.
- Parking passes for the school year are $60. All spots are first come, first serve and student parking will be assigned in the Brand Road Lot first.
Bus Information
Prior to the first day of school you should be receiving transportation information for your child. Be on the lookout for communications from DCS and details in Infinite Campus.
Student Drop-Off/Pick Up
Parents may drop-off at the Brand Road or Hyland Croy sides of the building. Busses also drop-off on both sides of the building.
Traffic is at its peak at 7:45am. Please be patient and plan accordingly. The first few days for traffic is messy. Thank you!
Lockers and Backpacks
DJHS has about 170 lockers that students may request to have assigned. Earlier today students were sent a Google Form to request a locker if they would like to have a locker during the school day.
- Students that request a locker will be contacted by a school administrator.
- Students are permitted to have backpacks throughout the school day for their supplies and materials.
School Supplies for High School
We don't send out specific supply lists for school prior to the start of school. Teachers will share specific needs for a course in the first few days of school. There will be some items that you will need but not as extensive as in middle school. Here are some items that will get your child off to a great start:
- Basic notebook, pen/pencil
- District issued Chromebook are good start for first day. If you are new, you will get a new Chromebook within the first few days of school.
- RECOMMENDATION: TI84+ Calculator is a good item to grab of students don’t have one yet. They will use it all 4 years in math. There are normally good sales during this time.
Emerald Campus Information
Emerald Campus will have some upcoming events for students. You will receive a newsletter in the coming days with more details. Here a few upcoming dates for students and families:
- First Day for EC Students, August 15th, First period at EC begins at 7:46
- EC Open House and IB Parent meeting, August 29th, 4-6

JEROME PICTURE DAY IS TUESDAY, AUGUST 20
HR Imaging will be mailing a bar-coded prepay flyer to each of your students that contains all of the information they need for picture day. The envelope on the flyer actually serves as your personal pre-filled camera card. Students should bring the envelope portion of the flyer to our scheduled picture day. This allow for quick, efficient process.
You may also order online here or click the image.
NOTE: These photos are used for IDs and our Student Information System. Students are not permitted to alter the photo and we must be able to have this for identification purposes. Students that do not adhere to those expectations will not be permitted to take the photo at that time.
Infinite Campus Annual Update
ACTION REQUIRED! Time for Annual Updates!
Before the start of each school year, families must complete the Annual Update. Items that can be confirmed or changed as part of the Annual Update include street address, phone number, email, and emergency contacts. Parents will also acknowledge our district handbooks, student code of conduct, and technology/network use agreements during the Annual Update process.
STEPS
To access the Annual Update, please follow steps 1-7 below. (WRITTEN TUTORIAL)
Log-in to Infinite Campus Parent Portal
Click “More” in the Main Menu or “Annual Update” under district announcements
Select “Online Registration Update”
Click “24-25 (Current School Year) Existing Student Registration.” Please make sure you select Existing Student Registration, not New Student.
Under Action, click “Start”
Click “Begin Registration”
Fill out your back-to-school forms
THINGS TO NOTE
- For best results, complete the Annual Update from a computer or tablet.
- A change of address requires two proofs of residency. A list of acceptable residency documents can be found on our Enrollment Required Documentation page.
Thank you for completing this very important back-to-school process. The information gathered as part of the Annual Update supports the efficient operation of our district and is critical regarding our ability to communicate with parents in the event of an emergency.
2024 - 2025 Jerome Athletics All-Sports Passes

Pre-sale/On-Line admissions are $8, while it is $10 cash at the gate. Senior guests (60+) and pre-school children are free. These ticketing policies are consistent across the league.

Student Digital Pass: $63.00
