Coloma Junior High
Family Newsletter for the Week of 6/3/24
Year End
We want to thank you for sharing your child with us for the 2023-24 School Year. We have watched your students grow throughout the course of the year, we have created memories with them and celebrated with them. Our building has shown a tremendous amount of academic growth throughout this year and we look to continue to build on that in the fall.
Your students have worked hard this school year and are ready for a well-deserved break. We are already planning for the 2024-25 School Year and are excited about the changes that are coming.
Mark your calendars now for our Annual Back to School Night - Wednesday, August 21st 5:30 - 7:30.
6th Grade STEAM Day
Our 6th graders had the opportunity to participate in a Harry Potter themed STEAM Day (Science Technology Engineering Art and Math). Students had the opportunity to build wands, catapults and more.
Counselor's Corner Updates
This month students wrapped up their final college and career lessons with Xello. Our current 6th and 7th graders were able to make course requests for next year as well as explore some of Michigan's 17 career clusters. Our current 8th graders were able to have a Q & A sessions with students from CJH's National Honor Society and gather many tips and tricks for success at the high school level and beyond.
As we think about moving forward into next year, I wanted to share that I have made the decision to take a leap of faith and pursue an opportunity in elementary school counseling. I would like to thank the Coloma community for trusting me as a first time school counselor and as a first-timer in a junior high school setting. I am so grateful to have had such a supportive community amongst the junior high staff, students and community of Coloma these last two years as your School Counselor. I will miss the connections I have made and wish for continued success for all of our current and future students. Thank you!
