DRESS CODE
It is that time of year where the weather is changing and some of our scholars have outgrown their spring/summer clothes. If you have a scholar that you believe is out of dress code, please send them to the office and we will handle. We have a limited number of items in the closet but we will do our best to accommodate. Dress Code
Macie has updated the school store to include multiple logos for use on all items. Here is the link: https://teamlocker.squadlocker.com/#/lockers/west-bay-elementary-school-store-1316735
I have also created a separate store that is called the "West Bay Elementary House Store" that has all the same items available with houses on them. Am working on adding a version of the house logos in white to go on colored tees. Here is the link: https://teamlocker.squadlocker.com/#/lockers/west-bay-elementary-school-house-store
Summer School
Summer School will be held at Beach Elementary. They will be hosting ESE and 3rd Grade Summer Reading Camp only. We will share more information as soon as we receive it.
EXCEL(lence in Learning): BDS LEARNING WALKS
We as Bay District Schools are putting the "A" back in BAY! We are looking forward to participating in this amazing new system of support. If you have questions, please come see MossBoss or Miller or call/text/email. This structure allows for our district leadership to support schools in a more efficient and effective way.
EXCEL learning walks will occur on each campus during the spring semester and will include classroom walkthroughs and administrative data debriefs. West Bay walks are scheduled for Tuesday, April 23nd.
District teams will collaborate with school leaders in the development of the walkthrough schedule. Content areas and grade levels that impact the school grade will be prioritized to include intensive/intervention courses.
School teams will be provided with an executive summary template to share appropriate school data, staffing information, and progress toward school improvement goals.
Schools may include any appropriate administrative staff and teacher leaders (coaches, master teachers, interventionists, etc.) Participation by the principal and district leadership is mandatory.

Chaperone Fingerprints
Our Safety & Security Office needs your help. Over the last few weeks, parents are waiting to get prints and badges until 3 to 4 days before the field trip or activity. This is NOT enough time to process the paperwork and get an approval or complete the appeal process.
S&S Office needs at least a 10 day business window to process fingerprinting and paperwork for volunteers and chaperones for field trips and activities.
ADDITIONAL TESTING INFORMATION
Survey from Instructional Technology - make sure your voice is heard :)
From Susan Tierney and her team: We believe gathering teacher feedback is crucial for making informed decisions about purchasing materials for next year. Here is a link to the survey - all teachers are encouraged to participate.
READING ENDORSEMENT
Teachers have until June 30, 2024 to take the test to add reading endorsement to their certificate. After that date a Master's Degree in Reading or 300 hours of coursework will be required to add the reading endorsement to your certificate. We MUST have several reading endorsed teachers at every grade level due to the requirement of having reading endorsed teachers provide interventions and for retained students. If you are not currently reading endorsed, I highly encourage you to take the test this school year. The district will help by:
reimbursing the fees for a test with a passing score
paying for the addition of the endorsement to your certificate
providing a 30 day subscription to 240Tutoring and study guides for the test
providing a TDY to preserve leave time
