Have You Watched the Family Video Update?
Have you completed the Family Feedback Survey?
As we consider the opportunity to return to in-person school this spring, we value the feedback of our families as part of the decision making process. We invite you to share your ideas and questions below. Please be assured that any decision to return to the building would include safety protocols for our entire community and will be communicated ahead of time allowing you and your family the opportunity to prepare. Thank you for your input.
OELPA Testing Starts Feb. 19
Annual OELPA testing will start on February 19th for students receiving ESOL services. English learners will need to come to the TCS building for testing. Letters with dates and times and other information were sent out in early February. Please contact us at OELPA@TheCharlesSchool.org if you have questions or if you did not receive a letter about your English learner's testing. Click here to RSVP for the OELPA test.
SAT Testing for 11th Graders on March 3

TCS@ODU Family Crew
Please join us for the February Family Crew (Tues. Feb. 23 - 6:00-6:45pm) during which we will all learn more about Crew, with a focus on Social and Emotional Learning.
At the end of January we launched Family Crew, an opportunity for families to learn and connect with our essential core practice of Crew. Mindfulness was the focus of this Crew session. We enjoyed an hour together of interaction between administrators, teachers, parents, and students. Visit the school website for more information and resources.

EL Education
Our partnership with EL Education empowers our teachers to unleash the potential of their students. EL Education is built on ten design principles that reflect the educational values and beliefs of Kurt Hahn, founder of Outward Bound. These principles also reflect the design's connection to other related thinking about teaching, learning , and the culture of schools.
