Got Change ???
Each grade level has a container in the hall by the office, kids can put their change in the corresponding grade level. You can do this as a class, or grade level, or have students just put it in there when they come to school, breaks, etc. This is your choice. Then at the end of the day, we will count up the money and announce the next day which grade level donated the most. That grade level gets something changed to their schedule for that day.... like extra recess, or popsicles, or silly string the teachers, or a dance party, etc. .... Starting on Tuesday during morning announcements we will announce who earned the "change" to their day.
Then on Friday May 17th at our assembly, we will announce the overall grade winners, they get to pick what change they want next week. The change can even be doing something to me, (slime, pies thrown at, silly string, extra extra long recess, change in lunch schedule, change in what to wear to school, etc.) They will let me know the following week what they would like to do as a grade level, and we will have a party/activity for them on Friday May 24th. Our goal is at least $6000 to help us for next school year. So look under those couch cushions and find that CHANGE!!
Business Items
** Shout out to the 2nd grade and their fun field trip on Friday to the Hoggle Zoo!!! I'll share some of their pictures.
** Shout out to Marilyn and the 4th grade teachers for a wonderful day at the 150Th celebration of the Golden Spike!! They sang their hearts out and were sooooo well behaved!! We even had compliments from a group of "older" ladies that our students were amazing and listened so well!! Picture to come as well.
** Team leaders have observed the 1st draft of the master schedule. They are going to visit with me to let me know what won't work, something I have overseen, or didn't know that couldn't be where it's at, and what they like. I have already adjusted the schedule with a few grade levels based on their feedback. My goal is to have a master schedule to you before we leave for the school year, so you can prepare for next year at your connivence.
**Lim renewal is a go. We will create our Loose and Tight for McKinley with LIM, at our coaching in August- date TBD....
**Reminder you have 15 hours of PD to work out with your teams on how you are going to use that time to meet, go over GVC's, CFA's and core related items. On May 22nd you will meet in your new teams again and finalize your team norms, collective commitments and plan your 15 hours together base don your individual needs, and as a team. Team leader will submit this to me before the end of the school year.
**There is blue painters tape in the common supply room in the office for you to begin marking your items that will go to your next classroom.
** Please have award nominations in soon so Janet can make the certificates- look for a google form in your emails for this. Anyone can submit this.
**95% training after school today- there is a Midas # and a stipend for attending.
**Please vote on the 5th grades google sheet for the Hope of America and other awards for our 5th grade students asap.
Kid Connections
**Please remember our behavior Heir-achy- if you do need to send a student to me, or have a meeting, please do so, we are all in this together. You also have the intervention team's support too.
**If there are any students involved in theft, vandalism, or self/ students harm, please notify me asap. Parents need to be contacted, and I have to report it on our system. If the situations have been dealt with, just let me know, if you would like support with the situation, please let me know. So regardless- please let me know. :))

Busy week..... Calendar updates...
On my calendar you will see a few big family rocks for myself this week, I'm very transparent, and you will know when my son has rodeos, or even a dentist appt. I can't live without my calendar, and it all goes there..... My mother in Law is flying in from VA on Tuesday for my husbands retirement ceremony on Thursday. I'm so proud of her, she has major anxiety, and a fear of flying, and after my father in law passed away 4 years ago, she has only been out to visit us 1 time, and that's when someone else flew with her. This time she's being strong and is going to fly by herself, even with a 1 stop flight..... She reminds me every day, no matter your age, you can learn something new, and be strong!! :)) - Sorry for the side note, I'm just very proud of her right now!
