Frontier STEM High School Excels in Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Competition
We're proud to announce that Frontier STEM High School has been named one of 300 State Finalists in the 14th annual Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition, earning a $2.5K prize package.
Samsung Solve for Tomorrow empowers students in grades 6-12 to utilize STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) for innovative solutions to local community challenges. This national competition encourages Problem-based Learning (PBL) principles, environmental stewardship, and entrepreneurship.
Our students are addressing critical issues, including climate crisis, accessibility, mental health, food insecurity, cybersecurity, aid for the unhoused, and migrants. The State Finalist title comes with a $2500 award, and Nihal D., the student leading our project, will soon receive training from a Samsung representative.
In the next phase of the contest, the team will be challenged to get one step closer to bringing their project vision to life by creating an activity plan and they are now eligible to compete for a chance to increase their prize package to $12,000 and become a State Winner!
Congratulations to our students for their remarkable achievement!
Exciting News from QuestBridge Match Day!
On December 1st, QuestBridge Match Day marked a historic moment for Frontier STEM High School. Makia M., a high-achieving student, has been successfully matched with Washington University in St. Louis, ranked #24 by US News. She secures a full four-year scholarship covering tuition, fees, housing, food, books, supplies, and travel expenses.
This achievement is particularly noteworthy as Makia is the first STEM student from our school to be matched with a QuestBridge College partner. Let's celebrate this milestone and use it as inspiration to show that attending college is not only possible but also attainable with financial support.
Please join us in congratulating Makia M. for her hard work and remarkable achievement. Hats off to everyone who played a role, directly or indirectly, in contributing to this success story!
