Compass Academy will offer our First Responders class beginning in January with the first class meeting this Tuesday, January 14th. This class is taught in partnership with the St. Charles Police, TriCom Central 911 Dispatch, and staff from Delnor Hospital. Students will learn in depth about careers in this important fabric of our community and earn academic and elective credit.

This class is open to the first 20 students who register on a first-come, first-served basis. Please do not register unless you are certain you can fully commit to participating in this class since there are limited seats.

Ms. Ohlson will send out information to students and parents in the course the week of January 6th. The first class meeting is on Tuesday, January 14th.

Students in the Write Like a Foodie (Applied Writing) seminar sampled different breads, which had been brought into the interdisciplinary Culinary Arts Specialty class that will focus on the cultural, economic, geographic, and political significance of bread throughout history and around the world -- all while learning how to bake a variety of bread types. After tasting the breads, students tried their hand at writing "foodie" tweets using 280 characters or less to describe the experience in vivid and descriptive language; e.g., "notes of honey and orange zest."

STUDENTS MAY COMPLETE THEIR LUNCH ORDER FOR THE WEEK BY CLICKING THE BOX ABOVE AND MAKING THEIR SELECTION BY 9:45 A.M. THE FIRST MORNING OF THE SCHOOL WEEK.

Compass Academy students pre-order their lunch, so if your student plans to order lunch, please have them complete the form that is linked above. Students are always welcome to bring food from home, if they prefer. If your student may qualify for free or reduced lunch, please complete this form or have them get a paper copy of the form from the Compass office.
