Summer Update #1
June 2024
Dear Families,
I hope everyone's summer is off to a great start. The last few weeks of school can be a bit of a whirlwind and we are finally getting caught up in the offices at Holy Name. While the hallways are much quieter, there is a lot of work that is done throughout the summer in anticipation of the new school year. I will send a few communications during the summer months to keep you up to date on Holy Name news.
Last week, the students participated in step-up day and had the chance to meet with their new teacher. They received their summer packets and supply list as well. I included information about the school-wide summer reading challenge. Students are asked to read The Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and complete the grade-level assignment. We will then show the film on August 7th. Any student who completes this challenge will earn three dress down passes. Details of this challenge are attached below. This upcoming school year we will be focusing on building that culture that helps students learn to love reading. We hope that you will consider reading this book together as a family.
We received final approval for our 2024-2025 school year and I have attached a copy below. The first day of school will be August 27th.
My hope is to keep families connected to the community by offering a few summer activities. We will hold a paint night on 7/9 and our movie night will be 8/7. We will also have a Back to School cookout on 8/22. I will send out an email with all the details of these events at the start of next week.
Sincerely,
Megan dos Santos
Principal
