A Message from the School Board of Directors

Thank you for the opportunity to serve the children, families, and taxpayers of the Upper Darby School District. As part of the School Board communication plan, the Board sends monthly updates to the school community. The information included in these briefs is not intended to be complete and does not replace official Board minutes. Official meeting minutes, agendas, reports, and presentations are available at BoardDocs. Also, the Board meetings are live streamed to the District's Official UDSD Board & Board Committee Meetings YouTube Channel. We welcome you to follow the issues the School Board is considering and to attend meetings to stay informed.

We would like to thank all of our families for your support throughout the school year. We look forward to seeing you in the 2024-2025 school year! Have a great summer!

UDSD Juneteenth Celebration 2024

Please join the Upper Darby School District in commemorating and honoring the historic legacy of Juneteenth, the moment of emancipation our fellow Americans experienced 159 years ago. As we celebrate freedom today and acknowledge the abominable and tragic legacy of slavery and racial injustice, may we honor the contributions and sacrifices that continue to pave the way for future generations in the journey toward freedom and equality.

Appointment of New School Board Director

25th Annual Service to Children Award

Since 1999, the Service to Children award has been presented to a wide range of role players within our school District community for shaping, protecting, and enhancing the lives of our most valuable resource, our children. Congratulations to Jessica Conley, the 2023-2024 recipient of this prestigious award.

Recognition of 2024-2025 School Board Student Representatives

Congratulations and welcome to our new School Board Student Representatives, Upper Darby High School seniors Tasneem Yeasmin and Timothy Biju. We are excited about working with Tasneem and Timothy and hearing their monthly reports. We would also like to congratulate outgoing Student Representatives — Class of 2024 graduates, Jade McCants and Fernando Santos — and to thank them for their outstanding work this school year.

June Meeting Highlights

2024-2025 Final Budget Update – Informational

In compliance with the Act 1 Timeline, Craig Rogers presented the 2024-2025 Final General Fund Budget. The Final General Fund Budget has taken all available and relevant information in to consideration and is presented with a 3.01% tax increase. View the presentation here.

District Title I, TSI, and A-TSI School Level Plans

Dr. Greg Manfre and Ms. Kelley Simone presented the District Title I, TSI, and A-TSI school plans for the 2024-2025 school year. The discussion focused on common themes and highlights, as well as the timeline for submission to the Pennsylvania Department of Education. This item is for Board action at the August 8, 2024 regular business meeting. Please view the presentation here.

2024-2025 Professional Development Calendar - Board Action Required

Dr. Christine Kelley presented the final version of the 2024-2025 school year professional development calendar for the District. Board action was required and was on the agenda for the special voting meeting following the board committee meetings on June 18th. Please view the presentation here.
