Welcome to the second week of Advent. This Sunday we will be looking at the story of Jesus in Luke chapter 2. Last week we looked at the proclamation that Christ will come into the world. This week we will see that Christ has come into the world. We want to reckon and wrestle with what it means that Jesus has entered into our world and into the world of our neighbor. Christ’s advent into the world changes everything. We want to be, as the church, a people of the possibility of God.

● Praise the LORD for the rain to replenish our water supply and extinguish the brush fires.

● Pray for Cathy VanDyne’s sister, Theresa, who lost her husband, Patrick, to cancer this week.

● Pray for Rhonda Chabot’s son, Joshua, hospitalized with a cancer diagnosis in Boston.

● Praise the LORD for a safe homecoming for Dawn Mattera after five months of ministry with LOVE FROM ABOVE in Romania.

● Pray for safe transport of badly needed items from the Canaan Church and LFA into Karkiv, Ukraine, in mid-December.

● Pray for our upcoming events including Connection Sunday, Shot Club, Christmas Music Sunday, Abundant Hope collection, Christmas Eve Service and New Year’s game night.

● Pray for our lead pastor John as he proclaims the Incarnation this season.

● Praise the LORD for Pastor Greg Laurie’s YouVersion Advent devotion this month.

● Pray for a peaceful resolution of the conflicts in Eastern Europe and the Middle East as this Year of Our LORD, 2024, winds down.
