Explorers Volunteers Update

I hope everyone had a wonderful, joyful Easter, surrounded by people you love. The entire weekend was full of worship, Easter eggs, and gratitude. Now we are officially at the end of the program year, with only four weeks remaining!

Looking ahead at summer activities, please do check out the information about VBS--Cooking Camp!--and, for nursery volunteers, let me know if you will be willing and able to continue with nursery duty monthly during the summer.

This coming Sunday we begin our last Grow Kids series of the program year! I can't believe we are already wrapping up. It's been such a good year. This last series, "One Small Step," includes a volunteer devotional to help us finish our year with purpose.

May 18 is the last Sunday of the program year.

May 18, the last Sunday of the program year, is also Volunteer Appreciation Sunday, when we will honor all the volunteers and leaders who make children's programming possible. That means you! I hope you'll join us in worship that day to be recognized for all that you contribute to our kids' faith formation and the life of the church.

We have quite a few projects filling our last few TGIW evenings as we prepare for the Volunteer Appreciation, Graduation Sunday, and a celebration for the end of the year.

Wednesday, May 14, is the last TGIW evening, with a picnic potluck.

For our nursery volunteers--Nursery continues for young families and their little ones all year long. I hope you will continue to volunteer in the nursery over the summer. If you plan to, I would love if you would confirm with me that you will, and I will keep you on the rotation. If you do not, if you would like to be taken out of the rotation for now, for any reason, please let me know that, too. The nursery is fun!—and I want it to be an enjoyable time for us grown ups, too, not just another commitment.

VBS is Monday Aug. 4 through Thursday Aug. 7 in the evenings. The theme and planning details are still to come, but the dates are set, and if you are available that week, I would love to have you volunteer! Let me know if you would like to or if you have questions about what volunteering at VBS looks like.
