Explorers Volunteers Update

Lent is upon us, and busy weeks are ahead! In addition to pictures looking back and an overview of activities looking forward, read on for quite a few dates when regular programming will change due to Lent and Easter.

Also, a call for pictures, especially on Sundays in Sunday School or in the nursery. As I put together this update, I discovered that I do not have a single picture from any Sunday activity in February. If you have fun photos, please do share!

For Lent, we fast forward again from the Old Testament to the New, and look at how Jesus changes times, places, and people. The series will end, appropriately, with Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead and the message that "Jesus can change anything."

Sunday schedule:
Sunday School 9-10am every Sunday 3/9-3/30

All-ages faith formation 9-10am on Sunday, 4/6

Sunday School 9-10am on Palm Sunday, 4/13

No Sunday School on Easter Sunday, 4/20 (worship services at 9am and 10:30am)

Our neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 19. Mark your calendar and look out for more information about volunteering for this event.

Wednesdays through Lent will focus on different stops along Jesus' journey to the cross. As a kid in church, I never learned the Stations of the Cross, none of the stories that lead us to Easter and tell us so much about Jesus and his life. I love being able to go through the stories and the journey right alongside our FAUMC kiddos!

Bells rehearsal 6-6:30pm and TGIW 6:30-7:30pm every Wednesday 3/12-3/26

Movie night Wednesday, 4/9 (no regular TGIW programming)

For our nursery volunteers--I am sending a new schedule for the next couple months right after this newsletter, and I want to say thank you, always, for bringing your energy and love into the nursery. Even as the final weeks of the program year come into view, nursery continues for young families and their little ones all year long. I hope you will continue to volunteer in the nursery over the summer. If you plan to, I would love if you would confirm with me that you will, and I will keep you on the rotation. If you do not, if you would like to be taken out of the rotation for now, for any reason, please let me know that, too. The nursery is fun!—and I want it to be an enjoyable time for us grown ups, too, not just another commitment.

VBS is Monday Aug. 4 through Thursday Aug. 7 in the evenings. The theme and planning details are still to come, but the dates are set, and if you are available that week, I would love to have you volunteer! Let me know if you would like to or if you have questions about what volunteering at VBS looks like.
