As our summer comes to an end in two weeks, we are excited and can't wait to see your smiling faces! We hope your family is still enjoying the last days of summer and sharing joy and laughs with your Bulldog!

Have you completed the Maze Day process? You received an email from the district about creating an Aeries account, our new student information system. This email may have gone to your Spam folder. It is very important that this be complete prior to the start of school as it contains important updates about residency and emergency contacts.

We hope that you have saved the early evening of Tuesday, August 13th to help share messages of positivity for a new school year! It is a wonderful event to meet new families and learn about how joining the PTA can help our school. They are donating our chalk and will also hold an ice cream social for those who RSVP in advance.

Attached to this Bulletin is the school supply list for 2024-25. I apologize for it not being posted for your access during the summer.

Aeries Parent Portal & 2024-25 MAZE Process

Fremont Unified is transitioning to Aeries as our student information system for the 2024-25 school year.

In July, parents and guardians received information to activate their Aeries Parent Portal, and use the Portal to complete the annual MAZE process, called “Parent Data Confirmation” in Aeries.

The window to complete the MAZE process for the 2024-25 school year is open until August 4, 2024.

MAZE is Fremont Unified School District’s annual data confirmation process in which parents/guardians:

• provide required information for each enrolled student - such as emergency contacts,

• acknowledge certain parent/guardian and student rights and responsibilities, and

• access specific school forms/information.

Completing the MAZE/Parent Data Confirmation process ensures your student’s school has accurate information, and allows families to view student schedules/classroom assignments and their teachers when that information is released in August.

Please check your email for additional information about activating your Aeries Parent Portal and completing the MAZE/Parent Data Confirmation process.

Fremont Unified está haciendo la transición a Aeries como nuestro sistema de información estudiantil para el año escolar 2024-25.

En julio, los padres y tutores recibieron información para activar su Portal de Padres Aeries, y utilizar el Portal para completar el proceso anual MAZE, llamado "Confirmación de Datos de Padres" en Aeries.

La ventana para completar el proceso de MAZE para el año escolar 2024-25 está abierta hasta el 4 de agosto del 2024.

Is your bulldog ready to play next school year? If Hirsch offers Basketball and Soccer in the 24/25 school year we want your bulldog to be ready! click to access the FUSD Physical Form.pdf (PDF) to fill out the preparticipation form and have it ready for the start of the school year. This is a mandatory form that must be filled out prior to tryouts.

Did you move this summer? The school office is closed for the summer until August 5th. If you should move while the office is closed, please email the Student Support Services Department at SSS@fusdk12.net or fill out the withdrawal form.

Would you like to be a Music for Minors docent and bring enrichment to help your students achieve academic success and positive social development through the power of music? If so please go to the Music for Minors website to Apply for the free training. Our goal is to have docents to support every class every week and we can't do this without your support!

Summer Reading Corner

The end of the school year is upon us. I cannot believe that we are here already. What a year it has been! So many wonderful adventures we have traveled together. Here is a list of what we have done this year:

• 27,251 checked out books for the school year. This is 1,940 more than we read last year. Great job!

• We participated in the inaugural year of BookBreak which provided monthly virtual author and illustrator visits.

• Successful book fair.

• Many lunchtime activities (puzzles, games, Legos, monthly themed activities)

• Organization of picture books by genre.

• Lunchtime Library Helpers!

• 100 Book Reading Challenge

• Over 1,000 books were added and over 1,000 books weeded.

I am including a Summer Reading Program List from local and national organizations that participate in summer reading programs. Please make sure you use this and keep track of what you read over the summer.

I will be extending the 100 Book Reading Challenge for our outgoing fifth graders so they can work on this over the summer if they would like to participate. Please make sure you return the completed document by October 1st.

Best of luck to our outgoing fifth graders! Always remember that you can be successful in whatever you are doing if you put your mind to it. And make sure that you are still reading books. Read books for fun, read books for entertainment, read books to learn something new, and read books to push yourself.

The Hirsch PTA will be hosting an Ice Cream Social from 6-7 pm for those families who attend our Chalk the Walk! RSVP so your bulldog can receive a FREE ice cream!

Our last month of school we had many fun and exciting events for our families. We had a full month of many events including Math Kangaroo, Art and Yoga Night and Astronomy night we look forward to all the activities in the 2024-2025 school year.

Thank you to everyone so much for volunteering to help decorate the multicultural week booths and projects. Your enthusiasm and creativity brought this event to life. Our bulldogs are incredibly grateful for your dedication to celebrating and fostering diversity.
