Kindergarten students are encouraged to dress up in any DGS spiritwear or school colors.
1st Grade students are encouraged to dress up like (or in the colors of) farm animals: pigs, cows, chickens, goats, etc. Some examples include a feather boa for a chicken, or pink ears on a headband for a pig. Students may also dress like they are on a farm (flannel shirt, jeans, overalls), or wear nice school clothing. Students who have speaking parts may be given something to wear provided by me (which I will communicate with you directly about). Speaking parts have not yet been assigned, but will be coming soon.
***Please no coats or any heavy/warm clothing while performing as students could get too hot***

Solar Eclipse
We are thrilled to announce that the Dunlap Schools have a special event planned for our students on April 8 – a rare opportunity to witness a solar eclipse! This celestial event promises to be an educational and awe-inspiring experience for our students.
To ensure the safety of all participants, we have purchased the correct and certified solar viewing glasses for everyone in the school. These glasses meet the necessary safety standards to protect the eyes while allowing a clear view of the solar eclipse.
If, however, you are uncomfortable with your child participating in this event and would like them to opt out, we completely understand. Please notify your child’s school by Thursday, April 4 so that we can make the necessary arrangements for an alternative activity during the eclipse.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we strive to make this educational experience both enjoyable and safe for all our students.
Updated Calendar
Due to the use of four snow days this winter, our 2023-2024 School Calendar has changed.
We now have school on April 1, May 10, May 17, and May 24. Please see the Updated School Calendar below.

5th Grade Physicals for 6th Grade
It's not too early to schedule your physical for the 2024-2025 school year. All 6th grade students must have a current physical with updated immunizations in order to receive a schedule and start middle school in the fall. Call their health provider to make an appointment soon.

Rent the Royal Rock
The Royal Rock which weighs in at just over a 1/2 ton (1002 lbs) was donated by Kickapoo Sand and Gravel, and it can be rented by Dunlap Grade families. It is an opportunity to share exciting events with our school community by painting your own message. Parents, students, and staff may rent the Royal Rock for a week long period to recognize birthdays, show school spirit, wish a team good luck, thank a teacher, congratulate events, etc. It is a great way to spread positive messages!
If you are interested in Renting the Royal Rock, please visit this link for more information on
