This Week at Windsor...

September 2024
Windsor Families,
It was a great week at Windsor!
On Thursday, our students participated in their first den meeting of the school year. This is the second year that Windsor is holding monthly den meetings for our students. Every student at Windsor has been assigned a den leader and will meet with their den monthly on the last Thursday of the month. Students will get to know a small group of students from different grade levels as well as make a connection with a staff member that they do not typically interact with. Students will participate in activities each month, the activity will be shared in my newsletter the following Friday. Thursday's activity was learning who their den leader is and where the den will meet. They also took a den picture that will be hung up in the Windsor Commons.
Please do not block the crosswalk on Windsor Drive and Campbell, many children walk to and from school and a parked car blocks the vision of drivers as they turn on and off of those streets creating a very unsafe situation for our walkers. We do not want anyone getting hit by a car.
A few reminders for arrival.
There is no parking on Windsor Drive in the morning. If you would like to walk your child to the door that they enter, please park on an alternate street and walk up. Windsor Drive is a drop and go in the morning, please pull all of the way up to the last sign along Windsor Drive to let your child out of the car, we need to keep the car line moving.
Walkers
Please wait for our crossing guard to cross you. She is directing traffic as she crosses students, it could create a dangerous situation if you cross while she is directing traffic to go.
Thank you for your partnership with this.
Have a wonderful wildcat weekend!

Our school nurses have been reaching out to families who need to submit updated information, so please be attentive to any communication via voicemail, email, or backpack mail. For any questions or further assistance, please visit our D25 Health Services page for the school nurse contact information.

Elementary school is a time of spills and accidents. Please help the health office by packing a spare change of clothes in your students backpack in a gallon size ziplock bag. This should include: Pants Socks Underwear Shirt This also helps your student since they feel most comfortable in their own clothes. As the school year progresses please make sure their clothes still fit and are weather appropriate. If you have any concerns or questions please reach out!
