The school will provide the hamburgers, hotdogs, buns, and silverware. Below, is a list of items that we would like families to bring. Feel free to bring chairs or a picnic blanket. You may also want to bring a cooler to keep your items cool.

Lead Teacher:

Señora Grimaldi comes to us with an extensive educational background in multiple grade levels, but she says that her favorite age group is the little ones ("chiquitos"). She originally hails from Guadalajara, Mexico but is happy to be here in Washington State.

Pre-K 4

Lead Teacher/Juan Diego Early Learning Center Director:

After teaching for the last several years in Kindergarten and 1st grade, the much beloved Señora Farias is taking over as the Juan Diego Early Learning Center Director and a co-teacher in the 4 year old program. She is happy to be teaching alongside Señora Raquel, once again, as well as running the entire Pre-K program.

Lead Teacher:

Señora Raquel is continuing her role this year as a lead teacher in the Pre-K 4 classroom. We are very pleased to have such a dedicated and talented teacher, who is also a native Spanish speaker from Mexico!

Assistant Teacher:

Señora Laura has moved from her role as last year's extended care supervisor to become a full time assistant teacher in the 4 year old program. She is a powerful component of this amazing new team.

Kindergarten

Teacher:

We welcome Señorita Rodriguez all the way from Madrid, Spain. She arrived in the United States on Sunday (the 23rd!!). She specializes in teaching children from ages 2 through 5 and is a friend of last year's KG teacher, Ms. Marta! We are grateful to The Kirkendall Family and The Hedges (O'Driscoll) Family for hosting Señorita Rodriguez for the next five weeks.

1st Grade

Spanish Teacher:

Señora Williams comes to us with an excellent background of working with very diverse learners both in the United States and in Mexico. She was born in Washington, but moved to Mexico when she was just a child and completed her degree in Guanajuato, Mexico. She and her husband are enjoying a new apartment, new jobs, and a new state. Wow!! Lots of changes.

English Teacher:

Mrs. Holguin is excited to be at Holy Rosary where she can be a part of our dynamic new 1st grade team. She not only specializes in early childhood education, she has a minor in Spanish and has spent many summers working with the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) as a camp leader.

2nd/3rd Grade

Spanish Teacher:

We are very pleased to welcome Señora Nolting. She comes to us from Bellarmine Prep and just returned from an amazing summer in Peru as a Fulbright scholar. The two classes are blessed to have such an outstanding instructor as they continue honing their Spanish language acquisition.

English Teacher:

Mrs. Silva moves from teaching grades 3 and 4 to grades 2 and 3 (English only) this year. She is going to be working closely with Señora Nolting as they share these wonderful 44 kids in the two grades. And since Religion is Mrs. Silva's specialty, she will be doing that for both grades...and loving it!

4th Grade

Teacher:

After doing an amazing job in Kindergarten last year, Mrs. Ramos moves into our 4th grade class as the lead teacher. She has a degree in education, Spanish, and music and the 4th graders are going to love learning with her!!

5th/6th Grade

Teacher:

Mrs. Scott returns this year as our 5th/6th grade teacher and we are extremely excited to have her back. She has worked hard over the summer to keep her kids learning and make sure they are fully prepared for the rigors of 7th grade math!!

7th/8th Grade

Teacher:

Mr. Gabe steps into the role as the 7th/8th grade teacher this year and is committing himself to building tomorrow's leaders! He has already begun putting in place the Student Council and is planning many opportunities for his students to step up and show their ability to mentor the younger kids in our school.

Music/Band

Teacher:

Mr. Nolting returns this year as our band teacher. The big change is that he will work with all students in grades K - 8 for either music or band. We are excited that he will be on site for two full days per week and the school is going to benefit from an outstanding instructor who is from New Orleans and knows all about big bands and music!

Kitchen Director

Señora Lizbeth returns this year as our Kitchen Director. She is in charge of feeding breakfast and lunch to all of our kids every day, as well as maintaining the Federal Meals Program!! It's a big job!
