Panther PRIDE Update
Cimarron MS News - July 2024
SEPTEMBER 20, 2024
Panther Families,
It's nice to be in a 5-day school routine. Research shows that children of all ages thrive on predictability, routine, and schedule; I know I do as an adult as well! I want to congratulate our volleyball and softball teams for fantastic regular seasons. Both teams wrapped up their regular season schedules yesterday, and now prep for their respective conference tournaments next Friday and Saturday. Good luck, ladies! We are proud of you and how well you have represented Cimarron.
Speaking of representing Cimarron, our fine arts department is gearing up for their respective events. Our orchestra students have their All-City Strings Festival this next week, while those participating in our Fall play are prepping for their performances in about a month.
Here's hoping for some cooler temps as we roll into Fall this weekend.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Kyle Harrison
Principal
Free/Reduced Meal Application
If you haven't done so yet, we encourage you to complete the free/reduced meal application, found here. For submitting a free & reduced application (whether you qualify or not), your name will go into a drawing for a free TV. Our Child Nutrition Department is giving away TWO TVs this year!
Student ID Badges
As a reminder, students must wear their badge and lanyard every day at school and to any after school middle or high school activity.
At school, students are required to print a temporary badge if they forget theirs. Students may print up to three badges, without consequence, every thirty calendar days. Students with over three printings in a 30-day period will have lunch detention assigned to them by their grade-level administrator, and again for every three additional printings after that. Students should also have their badges on their originally issued colored lanyards ($1 replacement fee) as this indicates what grade level they are in. For any lost badges, a new badge set costs $5 and must be paid for when the new badge is ordered. The parent/guardian will be notified of this and that the charge will be placed on the student’s account.
At high school events, middle school students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and orderly environment for our students!

Safety Reminder
A few safety notes for arrival/drop-off:
- Do not drop off students in the parking lot or on Bryant. The car line is very fast and the safest way for students to get to school.
- After dropping off your child, use your turn signal when you see Mr. Bashant at the end of the cones if you need to switch lanes prior to exiting the parking lot. He will assist you in safely changing lanes.
- Do not enter the parking lot through the "Exit Only" side.
- If your student walks to school make sure they use the crosswalks at all times.
- Bikes need to be walked once they are on campus for everyone's safety.
Thank you for your help in making arrival run safely and smoothly for our students and staff.
Canvas for Parents
Student Technology Protection Plan (STPP)
All PK - 12th grade students will be issued a district device to use for learning this year. At times, PK - 5th grade students may be given the option to take their district-issued device home with them to use, but they will mostly use their device in the classroom. All 6th - 12th grade students will be required to take their devices home each day.
All devices have a case to prevent accidental damage, however, we strongly recommend that families purchase the Student Technology Protection Plan (STPP) for each student. STPP will cost $10/year for all students in PK - 5th grade, and will cost $20/year for all students in 6th - 12th grades. Parents/Guardians will be financially responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged Chromebooks and/or iPads, as well as chargers and cases. This plan covers your student’s device at school and outside of school. You may pay for the STPP online via our InTouch payment system. If you have difficulties using the payment portal, these directions should be able to help. The last day to purchase this coverage is Friday, September 20, 2024.
