Raider Nation News
Volume 5 Ed. 4
Message from Principal Bob Carnaroli
Did you know in 1976 the #1 college major was Education at 22% of all majors … today it sits at less than 5%.
In a way this is a sad and also shocking statistic, but a very real dilemma for the future of our educational system nationwide.
Our job as professional educators can be very demanding, draining, misunderstood at times and unappreciated. We are the ones called to provide and guide the next generation of young adults to be their best and help them find their place and passions.
It’s a big job and a very necessary one.
There is no better group of educators, role models, coaches, and outstanding human beings to be doing this work than in Raider Nation staff!
Thank you for continued support and for entrusting your student to us each day. We take this responsibility very seriously and that partnership is what makes NFHS and Raider Nation very special.
Help us tell and share our STORY by following all things NFHS and Raider Nation on the following sites and platforms.

Teacher of the Year Final 4
Congratulations Teacher Juan Garcia
Our very own Juan GarcÃa, Spanish and Russian teacher at North Forsyth High School completed an 18 month Army National Guard Officer program through the Georgia Military Institute. He completed the program and graduated as a Military Intelligence Second Lieutenant. The program was both physically and mentally demanding and Juan like a true leader and Raider performed at the highest level.
Congrats Juan we are very proud of you for who you are and what you represent.

Counselors presented to senior families (30-minute presentation) then had post-secondary breakout sessions featuring a college panel (with KSU, UNG, GCSU, and Vandy!), WorkSource Georgia, and military recruiters. Cheer Supporting @ Wheeler
Football:
A very stingy Raider defense held the Wheeler Wildcats to just 7 pts on one long run play. The game was delayed at halftime due to bad weather. The Raiders pick up a forfeit win due to Wheeler not wanting to make up the remainder of the game on Saturday.
Volleyball:
Stays unbeaten 5 - 0 with a 3 -1 victory over a very good Allatoona squad. The Raiders will host the Coal Mountain Classic this weekend with a host of top ranked VB teams participating.
Softball:
Fell to South Forsyth 6 - 3 in region opener and bounced back to beat Forsyth Central 12 - 8. Next up Lambert home on Tuesday and West Forsyth home on Thursday.
Cross Country:
Varsity Boys: Led by Thomas Durand’s top 20 finish, the boys finished 6th overall. With the team nowhere near full strength, this is a VERY impressive result!
Varsity Girls: This team is jelling and worked their way to a 9th place finish even missing a few top runners! Led by Adelyn Thomas’ 23rd place finish! Also, congratulations to Devyn Keenan for reaching her goal of top 5 on the team!
JV Boys: This ALL FRESHMAN team took on the challenge of racing in high school and came away with an 8th place team finish led by Ethan Lowrey’s 17th place finish. WOW!
JV Girls: ALL 4 of these girls reached their goals at today's race! Reece Puckett and Julianne Grogan finished the race, Peyton Seals never walked, and Katherine Zurita went under 16! All goals, big and small deserve to be celebrated, so WAY TO GO GIRLS!
