Summer School K-5 Begins on June 24, 2024 at 8:30am!
Welcome to Summer Slam '24!
Romulus Caregivers,
We are ready and excited to see your wonderful students on Monday! This week our All-Star Team of teachers prepared for Opening Day on Monday and we are all so excited! Thank you so much to our OUTSTANDING Coordinators Ms. Shippy and Ms. Becker for facilitating our professional development day!
*Students will stay in their same grade for summer school( for example: If you have a 1st grader during the '23-'24 school year they will be in a 1st Grade Class for the summer school program).
Summer Slam '24 Parent Meeting #3! We are excited to share with you that we will have a Parent Meeting on June 25, from 5pm - 6pm at Romulus High School. This meeting is for any parent that would like to learn more about the program and to give you the opportunity to tour the building and have any questions answered by the Leadership Team!
We will be sending a weekly newsletter to you to keep you updated on our summer progress! Please feel free to reach out to us at any time.

DAY 1 - JUNE 24 - K-5 SUMMER SLAM!
BUS DROP OFF & PICK UP Information
DROP OFF by 8:30am - PICK UP by 2:30pm
- Busses will pick up students at their designated pick up on Monday.
- The busses will drop off students at Romulus High School between 8:20am - 8:30am. Students are dropped off in the north end of Romulus High School.
- Students will be welcomed by Dr. Hyliard and our Student Youth Counselors.
- Students will be escorted from the busses to the Cafeteria.
- In the Cafeteria the students will report to their current grade level table. At their table your student will be welcomed by their assigned teacher and escorted to their classroom.
- In the cafeteria students will also receive a lanyard with their name and assigned bus from their teacher.
- At 2:30pm students will be escorted to their assigned bus by the Student Youth Counselors. Students should arrive at their drop off location by 3-3:15pm.
Transportation is Provided from Romulus Community Schools!

Transportation via school bus will be provided by the Romulus Community Schools. The pick up/drop off times are now posted on the Romulus Website.
Kindergarten Students
Kindergarten students must be met at the bus stop for the afternoon drop off. If there is no parent or guardian at the bus stop, the child will be returned to the school or the Romulus Police Department and the parent or guardian must pick the child up that those locations.

PARENT DROP-OFF/PICK-UP
- Parents can drop-off or pick-up students. Please use the west end of the building for parent pick up and drop off. It is the Main Entrance at Romulus High School. Parents can pick up their students from the Main Office at any time.
- Drop-Off by 8:30am. Students will be welcomed by Student Youth Counselors and Program Coordinators.
- Students will be escorted from the Main Entrance to the Cafeteria.
- In the Cafeteria the students will report to their current grade level table. At their table your student will be welcomed by their assigned teacher and escorted to their classroom.
- In the cafeteria students will also receive a lanyard with their name and assigned bus from their teacher(even if they are picked up/dropped off by parent).
- Pick-Up will be in the same location on the west end of the building closest to the Main Entrance.
- Pick-Up is at 2:30pm for any student in enrichment and 1pm for any student that is not participating in enrichment. Please notify the office if your student is not going to participate in enrichment.

SWIM ENRICHMENT - WEEK 1 is for 2nd GRADE STUDENTS!!!
What to bring when your student has SWIM ENRICHMENT....
The needs of a Swimmer for Summer School Enrichment would be
- a swimsuit full body for girls and boys will have trunks with a lining in them or Jammers.
- Swimming caps and towels.
- Goggles along with deck shoes or flip flops.
- Some of these things we have already.
- Dry fit t-shirts can be a help for those boys and girls that are small built, It can keep swimmers from being so cold in the water.

K-5 Summer School - Romulus High School
- 1st Day - Monday, June 24
- Summer School will be Monday - Thursday
- June 24 - August 1(No School from July 1 - July 4, 2024)
- Breakfast is provided from 8:30am - 9am in your student's assigned classroom.
- Lunch is provided from 12:30pm - 1pm in your student's assigned classroom.
