MHS Dance Team Tryouts
The MHS Dance Team Try-outs will be Thursday, April 4th & Friday, April 5th, from 3:45-5:30 pm in the Auxiliary Gym of the High School. This is a wonderful opportunity for all trained dancers to show their school spirit! Please see the front office at MJHS & MHS for the Tryout Information Sheet.
PROM INFORMATION
The Maryville High School Junior/Senior prom will be on April 19th from 7:00pm-11:00pm at the Airport Hilton. Attached to this email you will find two very important documents about the dance. The “Prom Information” page outlines all rules and regulations for the dance. The “MySchoolDance Buying guide” has specific instructions on how students can purchase tickets online. Both documents are below. Please note the following –
- The Dance will be held at the Airport Hilton from 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm on Friday, April 19th. No one will be admitted AFTER 9pm.
- You must be present at school on Friday, April 19th to attend.
- Once you have been admitted to the dance, you may not leave and re-enter.
- You must have either a printed or digital copy of your ticket from www.myschooldance.com to enter the dance.
- All 11th and 12th graders at MHS are welcome and may bring one guest. MHS Administration must approve guests. Ninth graders may attend as a guest of a current MHS student. No eighth graders or younger will be permitted to attend, nor will anyone 21 years of age or older.
- The guest form must be completed online when purchasing tickets. Please note, if your guest attends another school:
- You will purchase their ticket when you purchase yours, but you must have an email address to put into www.myschooldance.com for your guest. If your guest is not an MHS student, it is better to use their private email (not school) because some school emails will not accept outside correspondence.
- Both you and your guest will have to electronically sign agreements in order to download your ticket.
- Outside guests will HAVE to enter one of their administrator’s email addresses. If your guest does not attend school, amanda.russell@maryville-schools.org can be entered so she can approve your guest. If your guest has NOT BEEN APPROVED, they will not be allowed in the dance and your tickets will be refunded. Note: Your guest will be the one to enter their admin’s email address once they create a login to MySchoolDance. You will NOT enter this when you first purchase tickets.
- If bringing a guest not from MHS, you must arrive with that guest.
- A buffet dinner will be provided from 7-9:00pm
- This is a school sponsored event, thus all MHS rules must be followed. This includes appropriate dress.
If you have any questions, email Jessica Janson at jessica.janson@maryville-schools.org.

Parents of seniors: it's been a tough year for FAFSA filing. Are you still struggling to get your FAFSA completed? Do you have questions about the form? Do you want someone to look over it with you before submitting it? Then, our FAFSA Frenzy event is for you! On April 3, MHS will host financial aid experts charged with helping families complete the FAFSA form. These representatives will be at MHS from 8:30-3:30 to help you and/or your child. If you plan to attend, please contact Sara Coon in the guidance office to make an appointment. You may email her at sara.coon@maryville-schools.org OR reach her by phone at (865) 977-7970. Students must file a FAFSA by May 15, 2024 to remain eligible for the TN Promise Scholarship.

Student Check Out Procedures
Check-outs should be held to a minimum and are limited to the following:

The checkout note must include the student’s full name, date, time of dismissal, phone number where parent/guardian can be reached for verification, and signature of the parent/guardian.
- The parent/guardian comes to the main entrance office to sign the student out.
Students who become sick during the school day must report to the assistant principal’s office/school nurse before they call home. The assistant principal’s office will assist the student and permit the student to call home.
