Principal's Newsletter- April 4th, 2024
April 4th, 2024
Dear Families,
We are quickly approaching the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) testing period for our students. The ISASP are assessments developed by Iowa Testing Programs at the University of Iowa for the state of Iowa. The assessments are aligned with the Iowa Core standards and provide a clear and accurate assessment of student learning outcomes. Student growth, proficiency and readiness indicators will be reported.
ISASP Tests in reading, writing, and math are given to all students in grades 3rd – 8th. A science test is given to students in 5th and 8th grades. This year, the testing schedule is as follows:
3rd and 4th graders: Week of April 8
5th and 6th graders: Week of April 15
7th and 8th graders: Week of April 22
To ensure that your child is prepared and ready to do their best, please make sure they get plenty of rest each night leading up to the test. A good night's sleep can make a big difference in their performance.
A healthy breakfast is also essential. Please provide your child with a nutritious meal each morning before they come to school. Foods like whole grains, fruits, and protein can help keep their energy levels up throughout the day.
Hydration is key to maintaining focus and concentration. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water before and during the testing period.
Lastly, it is extremely important that students are present at school each day and arrive on time. Missing even one day of testing can impact their results and the overall data for our school.
Thank you for your support in preparing our students and your children for the ISASPs. Together, we can help them succeed.
Blessings,
Mr. Wiebers
