THANK YOU TO MRS. PAQUIN🌼
Mrs. Paquin (and Nancy Austin and Family) did a lot of work over the summer to get the garden growing. We thank her for all of her hard work this summer!
In addition...🎃
2nd Grader Wyatt Biehl brought home pumpkin seeds from school last May and helped plant and maintain them in his garden at home! Great job, Wyatt!
Thievery in the pumpkin patch!!😎
COME OUT TO RENNER FARMS!🐴
ANOTHER BIG THANK YOU...👏
...goes out to all of the people that gave their time this weekend volunteering at the Renner property; this definitely applies to Mr. Mike Brennan who put in a lot of work and effort to make this weekend a success. Thank you, very much, Mike!
KINDERGARTEN QUESTIONS❔
The Concept/Question board is a bulletin board in the Kindergarten classroom where the class can share what they know/are learning and ask questions about what they might like to investigate. In Kindergarten, the first topic is "School". Here is our Concept/Question board.
📛FIRE & SAFETY DRILLS TODAY AT HCS🚒
In attempt to concur with state and federal laws (as well as practicing on keeping our kids safe in an emergency), HCS conducted our fire, tornado and earthquake drills this morning. A big thank you goes out to our teachers and staff with their flexibility in their schedule and making sure kids were safe.
COOL THINGS HAPPENING IN S.T.E.M.🧪
THANK YOU!
I know it seems like a long time ago, but last weekend's Parish Picnic was a huge success. From a monetary standpoint, it was our best ever!
We were absolutely blessed with some terrific weather! Thank you to all of you who helped and volunteered...from set up to break down and everything in between.
This will also be the last time that Mrs. Cornman will be serving as chairman of the picnic after 15 years. We want to thank her for everything she has done to make the picnic a success year after year.

🍌SEPTEMBER LUNCH MENU🌮
3rd GRADE WORKING ON THOSE EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONS!🧠
Mrs. Barttelbort's class is getting some work done and building that prefrontal cortex by doing 2 things:
1. Mapping out their week for homework and quizzes in their planner (thinking into the future and planning).
2. Using a check-list to make sure everything is ready (task management).
Of course, they get a little snack while they do this! Great job to Mrs. Barttelbort and all of her kids. They are even taking care of two guinea pigs!
DINNER AUCTION
More information will be coming as we get closer to October 19. Please save that date!!!

LIBRARY NEWS📚
The HCS Library is open for business!!
Students have visited this week and are allowed to check out 2 books at a time. This year’s reading contest is “DIVE INTO READING”! Sea levels are designated by the number of tests students pass on Accelerated Reader (AR) in the Renaissance tab. Use the Clever portal and QRL code to access the tests. A link can be found on the school website. Students can earn prizes for the contest and points for the “store” all year long.
There’s nothing fishy about it!! DIVE INTO READING TODAY!!
H.O.P.E. MEETING
Another Reminder:
Tuesday, September 17th at 6:30 pm, we will hold our first H.O.P.E. meeting in the cafeteria. H.O.P.E. stands for Holy Childhood Organization of Parents and Educators and is our PTA. All are welcome! Come and see what we’re all about and learn how you can get involved. Babysitting is provided in the aftercare room by older students.
GETTING SOME READING IN AT RECESS📖
A COMPLIMENT FOR OUR KIDS🥰
Bill Huff (the gentleman who did our Rosary last week at church) gave us a huge compliment at the Church Picnic last week. He said that the student helpers in the kids’ game land this year were the best he has every had!!!
