HS Sports
Dear Methacton Families and Community,
Mark your calendars!! The HS Athletics Office will be hosting our second Commitment Day of the 2023-2024 school year on Thursday, April 4th. The Commitment Day event will be open to any SENIOR student-athlete who is planning on playing a sport at the next level (DI, DII or DIII).
- STUDENTS are responsible for signing up for this event, they can stop into the East Wing Athletics Office in the HS to sign up and get more information.

Open Coaching Positions
Methacton HS Athletics is currently seeking coaches for the following openings:

Qualified applicants should submit a written letter of interest and updated resume to the Human Resources Office.
Baseball
Methacton baseball just completed our first week of game play. We defeated Upper Moreland on Monday, 3/18, 6-3 on the road. We then defeated Lansdale Catholic 5-4 in walk-off fashion in our home opener. The Warriors are headed to their spring trip in Orlando, Florida and will open up Pioneer Athletic Conference play on 4/2 at home against Phoenixville in a rematch of the classic 2023 PAC championship game.

Boys Lacrosse
The boys lacrosse team finished off their first week of the regular season with two big wins on the road against CB south and Wissahickon putting us at 2-0 and atop of the district points ranking. We are looking to keep the ball rolling with a three game home stand starting tonight at 7pm!!
Notable performances from week 1 - Max Little - 5 goals vs CB South
Wyatt Stemler - 20 saves vs Wissahickon (shout out to the defense for a hard fought game as well)

Girls Lacrosse
Girls Lacrosse had a tough loss this past week against Wissahickon, 14-8. Giada Catoia led the team with 4 goals. We're looking forward to a fresh week with new strategies to implement.
The team volunteered to participate in a Mini Thon Dance Friday night, organized by Captain Lily DeWan. Girls had a great time showing their support for Mini Thon and fundraising to help fight pediatric cancer.
As we head into spring break, we are excited to start the week with a home game against North Penn on Monday at 3:45 pm. Later this week, we will have a fun team bonding event at Escape Trappe followed by our home game against Perkiomen Valley on Wednesday at 3:45 pm.

Softball
Softball lost a heartbreaker on Tuesday against Pennridge High School 1 - 0. Courtney Freese had 12 strikeouts and scattered 4 hits over 7 innings. Methacton committed no defensive errors and went 2 for 3 at the plate to lead the Lady Warriors while Mady Polonsky and Jenna Kaufman each had one hit.
On Friday, the Lady Warriors defeated Central Buck South on Friday by a score of 1 - 0. With the score knotted at 0 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Sydney Hockenbrock doubled and scored the game’s lone run. Mia Pettine, Mady Polonsky and Soleil Bond-Jonshon each collected one hit. Courtney Freese was the winning pitcher with 2 strike outs and surrendering 3 hits.
The Lady Warriors begin league play next week when they visit Phoenixville, Perk Valley and Norristown.
Boys Tennis
Boy’s tennis had a strong week with two League wins over Norristown and Phoenixville. The boys swept both matches 7-0. This week we are hoping to have another strong week before heading into a short break for the holiday. We have two more league matches this week.

Boys Track & Field
The boys track team is looking forward to the 2024 season. Come on out tomorrow and cheer our student athletes on at their first meet of the season.

Girls Track & Field
Week 3 was a chilly week for the Girls Track & Field Team, but the weather didn't stop our girls from working hard. On Monday, we did team building conditioning/drills. The coaches randomly split up the girls into eight different groups, in which the girls were allowed to work with a teammate who do different events! On Tuesday and Thursday, the team worked hard on their events as they prepared for their first dual meet versus Norristown on Tuesday.
